I didn't get to see the game.....is that Harris kid that good? I know they were hyping him up after the FSU game.

I'd say so. Harris, plus size advantage at WR's and TE's, and his OC calling exactly the right play at the right time. There's almost no flash or bravado to this kid on the field - very even keeled; which is at odds with his South Beach style off the field.

Their RB Cooper isn't a slouch, either.

Well, a little hungover today, but we had a good time at the game. Last night made me realize that I really miss The Shoe, though.

Here is what I took from the game (a little hazy sifting through my alcohol depleted memories, but I will give it a go):

Harris is the real deal. The kid has game.

Miami's DL is much better than I thought. They are a pretty well disciplined group. They were able to stymie a pretty potent running game by staying in their lanes and not over pursuing.

GT's secondary is horrid.

I ended up leaving at the end of the 3rd qtr to go back to the bus and the beer. Great time, and I will definately be up for the the Miami game in The Shoe next year!!

I have seen Miami's first two games and must admit that they are pretty impressive so far. Harris is the best QB in the nation that no one is talking about. He may end up having a better season than all the heisman favorites. That program seems to be getting their swagger back.

I was drunk and was critical of the Jackets during the last GT thursday night game thread. I'll try to bring a bit more reason (and a bit less vitriol) in this comment.

I think Tech made a big mistake when Tenuta wasn't retained. Despite Chan Gailey's hap hazard play calling, Tenuta was the rock of that team and his defenses were always nasty. Last years seniors were the last group of players (Jahi-ward Daniels being my favorite) that were simply awesome in his system.

Johnson doesn't seem to have any interest in coaching a defense so for continuity sake - they should have kept Tenuta. It was pitch and catch for Da U on any passes from 10-15 yards in length.

Nesbitt is one of the worst passing QB's I've seen. He keeps GT from winning. I'll take Cryami.

scooter1369 adds: Zac Lee, QB, JR, Nebraska
scooter1369 drops: Josh Nesbitt, QB, Georgia Tech

agreed. Luckily I dumped his ass before last night's game so I couldn't make the mistake of starting him.
