It’s early for the 2025 receiver from Savannah (Ga.) Calvary Day but after landing offers from Georgia and Ohio State this week those two have emerged as the early front-runners. Many other schools could get involved as Coleman has seen his recruitment take off in recent weeks - and plenty of top players at his school - but this could already be a Buckeyes vs. Bulldogs battle.

One of Ohio State’s wide receiver targets in the 2025 class enjoyed his first visit to Columbus for the Maryland game on Oct. 7.

While on his visit, three-star Georgia prospect Edward Coleman came away impressed with the Buckeyes’ stadium, coaching staff and on-field performance in the 37-17 win over the Terps.
“It was a great visit,” Coleman told Eleven Warriors. “I had a great experience and felt comfortable. Knowing I was a long way from home, I was alright with that. Because it feels like a home away from home. From what I’ve seen, I really like campus a lot. The stadium is different from every stadium I’ve been to because it looks like ancient Rome from the outside. Almost looks like some type of Roman Colosseum.”
While on his visit, Coleman witnessed Marvin Harrison Jr. light up the stat sheet with eight receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown.
“I definitely think I can see myself being part of that group one day,” Coleman said. “It was cool to see (Ohio State’s wide receivers play well) with my own eyes.”
Coleman had an opportunity to speak with Ohio State offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Brian Hartline in pregame and postgame, which was a productive experience for the Georgia pass-catcher.
“I spoke with him before the game and after the game,” Coleman said. “He was asking me about my recent leg injury, and we talked about some different things and the work he’s done with the wide receivers there. I also talked to (Devin Jordan), and he was telling me what to pay attention to as far as the wide receivers in the game and how everything works and stuff like that. He told me to pay attention to how they react to facing adversity, blocking and how they got out of their breaks, small basic things.”
Hartline offered Coleman on May 11 after a sophomore season in which the 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect caught 30 passes for 546 yards with eight touchdowns.
“I’m more physical than other wide receivers. I can block, and I can play anywhere. I can play both outside and slot receiver,” Coleman said.
Coleman had toyed with the idea of ending his recruitment early and choosing a team sometime in December, but his mother suggested delaying a decision until after he takes his official visits. He says a summer commitment is now more likely. As it stands, he says Ohio State is “definitely” in his top five schools at the moment. He was also pleased to see Florida prospect Jayvan Boggs become the first wideout commitment of Ohio State's 2025 class earlier this month.
