I purchased a Roxio Game Capture HD Pro and am going to start recording some Youtube stuff.... An issue that I already know will come up is the ability record live commentary while playing and keeping in game sound.... I have decided that I am going to use Audacity to make a separate audio file for my voice.... The thing I am kind of unsure about is what I want to do about a headset or microphone... I don't want to wear two separate headsets (one for online play and one for my separate audio file), but I also know I will need my mic close enough to get good, clear audio... Does anyone know of a way I can use one headset for both?

My and a buddy used FRAPS back in the day and recorded audio separately (forget what program) when recorded gaming stuff. We then used some professional movie making software, that would block all audio coming from the game and we laid the headset/voice audio over that video and that worked perfectly fine. The audio recording program we used allowed you to select which incoming ports to record/listen for audio on. If you found something like that, you could select the exact audio inputs/outputs that you want to record.
