id also like to point out that after he broke his leg, what does he do, he gets up right away and limps off the field.

bugess makes a takle, and is down on the turf for about 3 minuts..and it wasnt even seriouse, cuz he returned like 4 plays later.

After the Penn State game, there was a thread where people posted their superstitions about why the game was lost. While the board has more than enough threads going right now; I think we can still have some fun with the other side of the superstition coin here in the game thread.

So who among us is really responsible for the victory?

While I don't lay claim to any game balls, I did the following:
  • wore my lucky, albeit threadbare, scarlet underwear
  • wore my lucky, albeit threadbare, tube socks with gray stripes
  • bought a proper B&T glass and used it liberally
    • made B&T's in a less-than-ideal glass for the psu game
  • ate a lot of Chili and took a huge Michigan at half-time
  • had my autistic 2-year-old son saying Go Bucks and obsessively doing high 5s with me throughout the 4th qtr
  • did not sit down during any 3rd down
Did you guys do anything, or do I get all the credit for this one?
You don't get all of the credit. About halfway through the fourth quarter, I switched to sitting at the other end of the couch and switched to clasping my hands without my fingers interlocked. It was a clutch move on my part, and probably saved the game. I did commit a serious mental error though too. I got up to take a piss during what turned out to be the missed PAT. I more than made up for it though during crunch time.

Gamesmanship? Carpenter wanted to get off the field because he knew he was hurt and didn't want to bring the defense's moral down. scUM defenders want to give their buddies a break from the ass-whipping so they stay on the field and cry like schoolgirls.

Just a possibility:wink2:

I noticed a couple of times that when Michigan needed to make a decision, one of their players went down "hurt" to stop the clock and give Carr and Henne time to talk. As soon as the meeting was over, the player would hop up and hobble off only to come back the next play.

I just had a flash of memory from 4 years ago.

After the prophesied victory in Ann Arbor in 2001 many scUM fans were ridiculing suggestions that the rivalry was back. "It's going to take a lot more than one victory to make this a rivalry again", they said.

Well is it a rivalry now, bitch? Or do we just flat out own you? Now give me the bag before my fries get cold!

Hoenstly, I think you are smoking some good crack... hmm... TS has his best game as a QB, throws for over 300 yards, and we are tenative? Just be happy that 2 fumbed punts, a 18 yrd punt, 2 missed kicks, AND a fumble on a sack and we STILL had a strong enough day from the offense (can't forget about Pittman) to beat those weasels up north.

Actually, in his own way, he has made a very good point about exactly why our offense was pretty stagnant throughout the 3rd and into the 4th Qtr.
scUM played way back at the start of the game, obviously not wanting to give up any big plays. they figured we would not execute well enough to drive on them for extended periods with short passes and runs. In the 2nd half, scUM got much more aggressive, taking away the short stuff. I'm thinking - great! this is just what we want them to do - overplay the short passes and the run - now go over the top and burn their asses!
Only we NEVER did that. We never made them play their safeties deep and it hurt the things we had been successful with earlier.
When you have weapons like Holmes and Ginn, you must use them to keep the D honest, which loosens up the underneath stuff so you can move the chains. This part of the game was missing yesterday and it could have cost us dearly without the amazing plyas made by TS.

I noticed that during the game....and I dont even think there should have been a flag because the one defender above him on the replay...was about to hit him and he dove in....BAD CALL IMO! Oh and I will be watching it on Wednesday when I get home for THANKSGIVING BREAK...

FUCK MICHIGAN

Notice they called the Penalty on Ginn where Holmes scored the TD to make the score 21 - 19.....

ODD...

Gosh those Officals were bad
Yeah, I heard that in the game. They just called the wrong number.

Did you notice the two third down plays where Michigan snapped the ball with 0 on the play clock and picked up the first down instead of backing up?

That game was like a "Where's Waldo" book of bad calls. Every series... can you spot the mistake by the officials? Was the replay guy sleeping, drunk or a Wolverine fan?

I don't remember if any plays were reviewed or not, but I remember thinking that the guy must be passed out or asleep or dead.

On the play where the LATERAL went 4 yards BACKWARDS there was plenty of time before the next snap to page the ref and tell him that he blew the call and maybe ask him what he's smoking.

And the scUM-bags are saying they got jobbed. HILARIOUS.
