Game Thread Game Four: #1 Ohio State 28, #24 Penn State 6 (9/23/06)

One thing we're going to have to keep in mind this week, assuming USC rolls, is that it doesn't matter in the slightest what happens to the polls.

Not like we haven't been in this situation before, the W's are more important than whether or not we impress the talking heads each game. Lot of football left to play. If we win out, a move in the polls this week won't matter. If we don't win out, a move in the polls this week won't matter.

So easy, the media is irrelevant, as are the polls, as is anything but the W's.

Great point as usual, Clarity.

I was wondering myself how people will react when we inevitably lose points in the polls. If we *gasp* actually slip a spot, some people will go apopleptic; but you're right. It doesn't matter in the slightest.

even if he wasn't in, what would of happened?

Assuming where the ball went out.....

If it went into the endzone and out, then it would've been touchback, PSU ball on the 20.

If it went out in the field of play, say at the 1 yard line. It would've been our ball on the 1.

Thats the thing.. I don't think the ball went out of the endzone, I thought it went dead in the endzone and the refs picked it up.. it would have been ours on the one

"Would Texas beat Ohio State if they played this week?"

:smash: :shake: :roll1: :moody: :sick1:

ya I heard that to. What a joke to even try to bring that up like its big news. Why didn't they talk about the weather like they did on ABC. They kept saying the weather is changing what OSU really wants to do

Actually if I remember the replay when the ball was spiked it looked like he actually spiked it in the end zone. As they say if the ball crosses the plane of the end zone, it doesn't matter what happens next, it is still a TD. Although I am sure he will get talked to by the staff. After all you are supposed to as an OSU player to hand the ball to the official. If Malcolm had done that this dicussion would be moot......:)

I am so impressed with the D, I cant even describe. Here we came into the season thinkin that we'd have to score alot of points to win games because of this young, inexperienced defense. Talk about wrong. 32 points in 4 games? I am real curious to see how the secondary does against Tate next week, but I have to say that so far, I see better coverage than we had last year. They hit hard, Mitchell reminds me of Doss a bit. The offense did not look good at all today, apart from Pittman. Teddy needs to stop the dancing and run........Troy just had an off game, and I even sometimes wonder if the Heisman crap gets to him. But that defense........wow. I love it. There is nothing better than watching a bunch of young guys out there looking like veterans.

Initial thoughts...

1) The weather hurt...

2) Any more questions about Pittman? He pulled us through...

3) The D is good. Quinn is 1st team AA. Laurinaitis is the man...keep eating crow.

4) Troy struggled but showed he will/can make the big play when needed. He seemed as if he really tried to stay in the pocket. QUIT THAT. Play ball Troy..that is why everyone in the country knows your name.

5) Yao..more crow served. This is one more example of the development in CBus...kid played well today.

6) Freeman is still dangling that spot..

7) DLINE....nuff said.

8) Boone showed signs of life today...at least what we all expected.

9) Malcolm is one of the best CBs in the nation.

10) Every team has chosen to take someone away...Ginn, Gonzo, Troy...whatever. yet, someone else steps up. That is championship football.

Be frustrated...be worried. Feel free. I am not. This team showed traits today that might lead us to another championship....
