Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

Yes, of course it's winnable, but it may be close. Despite our pyrotechnic offense, I think our DL wins this one for us. If Gohlston and Co. can get to and hit McCoy early and then throughout the game, we'll be in really good shape. Also, as Mili mentioned, our interior run defense didn't look too bad. We just have to do with Texas what you have to do with a good/great team: square up and hit them in the mouth, hard, repeatedly. We've still got the guys to do that.

Go Bucks.

For all the damage Wolfe did to our defense one statistic stood out to me that gives me confidence in this game: 13 tackles for loss. This means our DL was getting very good penetration against NIU. If they can have similar success against Texas they'll be getting lots of pressure on Colt and force him into some freshman mistakes.

Unfortunately for this man, he got a bit too close to the stadium when he went in for a picture.

Were getting reports that ESPN is concerned that they are not going to have a place to set up the Gameday (sponsored by Home Depot) stage. There is also concern that things will be so hot tomorrow night in Austin that spontaneous combustion could become an issue, especially before sundown. They have the fire dept. on standby.
