Hey we scored more points and had more yards on you then Texas.

Uh, yeah. I guess after losing so badly to Ohio today, and seeing this game, it seems pretty clear that Ohio State really kept its defence under wraps for the Texas game, doesn't it?

I agree, and I don't lavish praise lightly, but I'll say that before last year I thought Texas was kind of an enemy in a way, based on what I had heard and seen from certain players. However, after the last 2 years, and listening to the posters around here, I think Texas and Ohio are states with very similar fabric, and football is a major part of every community, big and small. They have similar talent, traditions, love for the game, and respect for the game as we do. Other than the games themselves between us, I now feel Texas and Ohio State are very much on the same side, if you will.

Bravo.

The GPA function doesn't seem to display the award, but this post got one. I think a lot of us have really enjoyed having the Texas posters here and wish them well.

Gee, I sure did love winning that game though! :tongue2:

Coach Brown

Anyone listen to the post game conference?
A class guy. I have a lot of respect for him. Didn't make excuses and just heaped a lot of praise everywhere for the Bucks. Said Gonzalas and Smith were huge factors.
Also said they prepared a lot more for Smith Running and for Ginn running as well. Neither happened.
Troy Smith has become a true pocket passer that now scrambles only when he thinks it is needed. I am so impressed with Troy's decision making. You get the feeling he is seeing everything in slow motion.

Lastly, Brown said he thought the Bucks blitzed 40% of the time. really kept the pressure on their young QB.

Just another great job by JT. Brown thinks so too

colt didn't play like a freshman. he took hard hits and made a lot of really good reads. .... but their d and o lines are extremely good.
Very astute comments. McCoy certainly didn't have a game like Troy, but he made only one freshman mistake (the INT), and looked good running the option, throwing from the pocket, and rolling out. He was victimized by some dropped balls.

IMHO, Texas won the battle in the trenches. Very strange to see the more physically dominant team lose so badly. Ohio State's O-line looked suspect at times, and Boone got abused pretty badly by Brian Robison (a pretty good DE) - Boone had two false starts, a hold, allowed a sack and several pressures (including the grounding call, IIRC). The Buckeye D-line looked alternately great and overmatched, but Texas may have the best O-line in the country, and Charles and Young are both quality backs.

IO!

Colt McCoy is a good QB... other than the Laurinaitis int, I thought he did well out there.

I'm going to send a thank you note to Greg Davis for basically refusing to run the ball after the 1st quarter... when they were dominating on the ground.

JT on the road, Ginn/Smith vs elite defenses, Tressel playcalling, our young defense... all of those went bye-bye.

Our secondary is going to be very good. Homan showed promise again, bringing the RB down with one hand... where at other times 4 guys could not tackle him. Our DL was a bit overrated, but that is a stellar OL.

Awesome performance and playcalling.

No offense to UT, but I think that OSU outcoached UT in this game. We moved guys around constantly on offense, and the way that TS carved up their secondary leads me to believe that they were confused throughout the game. Additionally, the defensive game plan was phenomenal. Who would've thought that we would hold them to 7 points? Our coaching staff deserves an A+.
