I'm curious to find out how many here have actually stepped up the the top of the key, or free throw line and attempted to guide the ball one-handed from dribble to shot and find no difference. You're either lying or you've practiced that shot (although if you have two hands, I don't know why you'd do the latter.)
I recall vividly after breaking my wrist sophomore year of high school, trying to teach myself to shoot left-handed. I most assuredly needed the cast on the right hand to guide the ball.
If there is little to no difference, then why even use your off-hand for guidance on a free throw?
BTW, shooting one-handed isn't as difficult as some people on here are inferring.
I never said it would be difficult for someone of Arenas' caliber. I'm simply arguing, as he probably would, that it is noticeably easier with your off-hand for balance. Otherwise, again, why do great free throw shooters almost uniformly shoot with two hands?
