Giovanni Strassini: A Football Fantasy

Vizzini;2339081; said:
I don't care whether you were John Strassini implicated in whatever circus of lawsuits or crimes. Those items were simply tossed into the fire. Stop using those as a vehicle to paint yourself as a victim here. They aren't even close to being the center of the story.

The issue at hand, and the part that caught the eye of most readers (who never slogged through 44 pages of craziness) is that you imitated a buckeye.

You can continue to attack thousands at a time and try to lump them all into one convenient group at which to shake a stick, but that only works if you change the conversation to the trivial parts. The things that you say aren't Giovanni Strassini. Fine, then let's leave those on the sidelines for the time being.

You don't have to take money for major wrong to take place. Now those adoring fans, children, cancer victims that once cherished their brief intersection with buckeye lore now have been stripped of that moment.

Now every time someone heads somewhere with buckeye celebrities, the fans & organizers will scrutinize whether or not the alleged celebrity is legitimate. Now every time someone randomly rides a plane next to a buckeye great from 50 years ago that barely resembles his 20 year old buckeye self, that special moment suddenly requires a more calloused doubt of whether that person is actually who they claim to be.

Being a buckeye is such a special thing. Being a scholarship player is an even greater honor. Being one of the select few that achieved greatness under that banner is even more rare air. That is not something to be trifled with, and the offense of doing so stretches way beyond financial gain.

point well taken, but you know nothing of what i did or said in the 30 plus years this went on. you became aware of this 5 days ago is my point, because of wikipedia and me trying to remove my name from it.
gain is what fraud is about, i said sorry a few times and i was wrong a dozen more. when does the penance end? i had no monetary gain or financial gain, that is what fraud is about

Unless he has two separate browsers open (i.e. Internet Exploder and Firefox) and can type with both hands simultaneously, I kinda doubt it.

But seeing his IP addresses would be very interesting....

It can also be two guys in on the same joke. This is just way too weird from both of them.

i will reply because your question is good, i did not correct it until after a friend was elected into the HOF, and asked me to come as his family. i did not want searches done and see those things and attempted to remove them. late but that is never a bad thing. better late than never right.
Just so we're clear, you're claiming:

1. Your friend was elected into the HOF
2. So you deleted any search history that might result from that

Instead of:

1. Years of perpetuating this myth on Facebook, Twitter, ESPN, IMDB, Wikipedia, polls and even real life
2. JustinAgs alerts BP to the potential fraud
3. BP's search spreads like wildfire, unearthing all of methods and craziness used to fuel this charade
4. The accounts linked in #1 get bombarded with posts exposing the lie
5. Those accounts are deleted to stop the bleeding (but it is too late)

You keep texts from other dudes for years?

What's your name again? Giovanna?

There's no way this is the actual fraud guy right? This troll has to be from the Shag or something.

When I ended any interaction I had with this guy 2-1/2 years ago- I blocked the three e-mail addresses that I know he had, blocked him on Facebook (I don't have a twitter page), blocked him on any messanger services I had at the time, and changed my e-mail address.

There were a couple others who cut him off completely a year before I did. I should have cut him off as well.

All I'm going to say, is that if you google my name (even down to the middle initial), you will see nothing but a MLB Baseball player. Not once have I attempted to portray myself as this person. I've had people mention it to me.....and what do I say? That's not me.

Why is it that I'm able to deny that I played professional ball, yet, you couldn't?

In the interest of full disclosure, I can totally see where this guy is coming from. You see... I have a terrible confession to make. I've been doing something similar.

This is me, in my undeservingly assumed persona:

Yes, I've mascaraded myself as Lendak. I'm not proud of it. If you need to kick me off the site, I accept my penance.

Seriously, WTF was dude thinking?

How did it start 30 years ago? Did somebody doctor an old OSU program or media guide? If so, why? And why did that person, or some other person, feel obliged to post same information on the internet?

Also, living this lie for 30+ years is supposed to make this better somehow?

Ok, make us aware of what you did or said in the 30 plus years. I'm sure I speak for many when I say I'm honestly curious what the progression of this.

you became aware of this 5 days ago is my point, because of wikipedia and me trying to remove my name from it.

No, deception is what fraud is about.

1
a : deceit, trickery; specifically : intentional perversion of truth in order to induce another to part with something of value or to surrender a legal right
b : an act of deceiving or misrepresenting : trick
2
a : a person who is not what he or she pretends to be : impostor; also : one who defrauds : cheat
b : one that is not what it seems or is represented to be

1b, 2a & 2b from Merriam Webster fit this scenario to a T. We could debate whether there was non-financial gain to match 1a, but when most of the definitions match up, that seems rather unnecessary.

He told me that he was an all-American football player at Ohio State roughly 5 years ago.

I was never in on the joke.
