GMAC Bowl - Southern Miss. 28, Ohio 7 (Jan. 7, 2007)

What did Gerry MacNamara ever do to have a football bowl game named after him?

I guess I don't follow the little bowls that often, but it seems a bit unusual to have small bowls in january. Has that happened in past years?

It's a first for the GMAC at least. I think they inserted it between the bigger bowls around New Years and the NC as a ratings ploy.

Here's a good question that someone may have an answer to...

The last three bowl games of the season all feature Ohio teams... Cincinnati took care of business yesterday and hopefully Ohio and Ohio State can make it a clean sweep for the state. Here's the question: Has there ever been a time where teams from the same state won 3 bowl games on 3 consecutive days?
