Perhaps. But...until you go into The Game rolling towards a Big Ten title, Rose Bowl berth and possible NC with the empty pit in your stomach just knowing what's going to happen and then watching it happen just as you feared, you will not know true pain.

06 was to a great team, and Cooper would not have been villified as much if it was just 97 where he came up short.

Take the early 70s results and make most of them against the buckeyes from the 80s, and then you have a better sense of the pain.

08 and 09 Michigan teams. Name a buckeye team in the last 40 years worse than those two teams. Not so easy when you finish last in a conference only to see your hated rival win the championship. Not a great feeling going into a game knowing they are already defeated. You and I can go back and forth all day Jwin. :)

To be honest Steve. Losing to Toledo hurt more in 08.

A Toledo team that was so bad their coach got fired. That is the best part of that story.

ugh, that's the worst thing about the last two years. At least when Cooper was losing to UM you guys were still having successful seasons.

Loss to UM = not a successful season.
