I've supposedly amassed $1.5 mil so far in GTA Online, but all I have to show for it is a well modded Coquette, a lot of modded guns, and a $110,000 apartment (I did have two very modded cars that poofed from my garage 2 days ago though, one being a $100k Banshee). I'd like to save up for this sweet $400k pad listed above, but my money tends to burn a hole in my pocket . Gratz on getting to your goal!

I've never really played any GTA's, but after reading all this I think I may just buy it this weekend.
Anybody else who is like this......I played a couple of the other GTAs very very sparingly. I'm sure I never did half of what there was to do and this was years ago. Apparently I played the one before this one because I have data saved on my PS3, but I don't even remember it.

You don't need to have played those games to enjoy this game at all.

I gotta say I was pretty skeptical of GTA V storymode and online. I played the previous PS2 games and liked them, didn't care for GTA IV on PS3. I was afraid GTA V would be more like the last one, but it's not. The story mode is better, better characters, better story, better functionality, lots to do and see. GTA Online is like crack if you find a couple decent people to do stuff with, can't wait for heists to get unlocked there.

Dang, that's sweet. How much is that place? Are there other locations like that one with same price range/view?

That one is 223k. There's one before it in the same building for 205, I believe. The most expensive apt is 400k, but it depends on where you want to be located/views. I like the one I mentioned bc you can watch insanity on the freeway, great location, and awesome views.

Here's a link of some apts:

I'm just going to have no money after buying it

So for someone who hasn't played like me, what's the purpose of having an apartment? Just a resting/storage place? Also, if you have no garage, do you just park anywhere and risk it being stolen? I keep hearing about people getting jumped that are new, this makes me feel like I'm back to being the lost white guy in LA at 2 AM.....that wasn't fun...."hey, that looks like China Town!"

Yeah, an apartment comes with a 6 or 10 car garage. You can hang out there, and plan heists with your crew (when available). I look forward to seeing bounties on people and watching it on the TV.
