I remember sitting in Ohio Stadium as a kid, asking my Dad why they had a picture of Orlando serving pancakes on that old scoreboard. "Now serving.." says it all.

Man I miss the grass and gray writing in the end zone. Blue skies, fall weather, and the green grass. Love. this. place.

In 1970, we had two, count'em, two, Outland Trophy winners playing side by side*. John Hicks and Jim Stillwagon.

I voted for Jim Parker. The only reason he didn't win the Lombardi Award is because they didn't have it when he played. He was the first Buckeye player to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is a first team guard on the Sports Illustrated All Century College Football team. He was the lead blocker for Hopalong Cassidy when he won the Heisman (much as Hicks blocked for Griffin.) Jim Parker played both offense and defense, while Pace and Hicks only played offense. He not only played both ways, but absolutely dominated both ways. He was the anchor of a defense that only gave up 75 points in his junior year.

Woody Hayes said, "Jim Parker is the greatest offensive lineman I ever coached."

I'd like to give an Honorable mention to Gomer Jones - he would be number 5 on my list.

*not really "side by side" as they played opposite sides of the ball - meaning every snap the Buckeye's opponent would face an Outland Trophy winner.

Maybe not the "greatest" OL but still deserves a mention:

Part of the reason that Uhlenhake is a "forgotten" Buckeye is that he played on the same line as Jim Lachey.

Probably the two greatest Buckeyes to ever be overshadowed because they came along immediately after an all-timer at their own position were two guys that appeared on consecutive days in the Countdown earlier this week. Chris Ward and Korey Stringer. They might be remembered a lot more fondly (and more often) if they hadn't come along immediately after Hicks and Pace, respectively. Most schools would count it an honor to name those 2 as their best ever offensive tackles. At Ohio State, they might still be in the top-5 (or at least top-6 for those who would put Lachey in there), and they have both been mentioned in this thread already, but because they came along immediately after guys that probably should have each won the Heisman, they were not and are not appreciated as much as they should have been.
