Bleed S & G

Taking Crazy Pills
Dave Leggett

"Though he was the MVP of the Buckeyes’ win over Southern California in the Rose Bowl to cap a 10-0 season, Leggett is best remembered for a tackle and a drive in the regular season-finale against Michigan. Leggett stopped a Michigan ballcarrier a half-yard short of the goal line on a fourth-down play in the fourth quarter with the score tied at 7. Leggett then guided the Buckeyes 99 yards to the go-ahead score, a touchdown pass to Dick Brubaker, and Ohio State went on to win 21-7."

Troy Smith

2004 "Ohio State came into The Game a mediocre 7-4 and Michigan was ranked #7 in all of the land. They hadn't lost a single conference game until Troy Smith made his rivalry game debut. The unranked Buckeyes owned the game from start to finish on their way to a 37-21 spanking. The sophomore from Cleveland went 13 for 23 for 241 yards and two touchdowns. Smith also carried the ball 18 times for 145 yards and another touchdown."

2005 "Michigan led 21-12 deep into the fourth quarter. Smith led the Buckeyes on two touchdown drives in the final seven minutes; on the day Smith went 27 for 37 for 300 yards and a touchdown. He also added 37 yards on the ground on 11 carries and another touchdown. The game winning drive, capped off by an Antonio Pittman run, put Ohio State up 25-21 with 24 seconds left."

2006 "Ohio State was undefeated and ranked #1. Michigan was ranked #2 and undefeated. On the day, Smith went 29 for 41 for 316 yards and passed for four touchdowns."

I rarely get to a game, but I was there for the 2006 game. Most unbelievable thing I've ever seen in my life.

GO BUCKS!!!!!!!! :urban2:

Troy in a landslide. He played lights out all three games against scUM. I'll never know how he was able to make that move to get out of the pocket in '05. Amazing athletic ability just to get out of the pocket, but to then roll out and find Gonzo downfield. The only bad thing is that if the ball wasn't underthrown, it would have been a TD.

Beanie Wells was pretty phenomenal against scUM

2007: 39 rushes, 222 yards, 2 TD (62 yards, 1 yard) (9th most rushing yards in a game by a Buckeye; most rushing yards in a game by a Buckeye against Michigan; second most rushing yards given up in a game by Michigan)
2008: 15 rushes, 134 yards, 1 TD (59 yards)
Total: 59 rushes, 412 yards, 7 ypc, 4 TD

In my lifetime, Troy Smith. He had three of his absolute best games against them, and they never had an answer for him. He beat them with his arm and his legs and '04/'05, and dissected them with his arm in '06.

Although I agree with everyone's comments that Troy is the number #1 player, and JT is the #1 Skunkbear killer ever, I'm surprised no one has mentioned Archie. Never lost to Michigan in his 4 years. Granted, there was a tie, but that was in the heart of the 10 year war. Not bad to lead the Bucks to 3-0-1 during that time.

I believe that is "The Game" record for a career - beat Rob Lytle's record
