Guide To NFL V-Betting

Usually I don't do much V-Betting on the NFL, but I think I've found a foolproof formula. Our local newspaper, every sunday, has it's 7 writers pick all the NFL games against the spread. I've watched this for years, and time after time after time when these Ya-Hoos are all in majority for a game, it loses. By majority, I mean either 6 or all 7 picking it one way. Usually the 5 on one side loses as well.

Well, I tried this formula today, which was picking "against" what these idiots were predicting, and made a nice amount of V$$$.

Today's majority picks were:

All 7 had Packers -10. I bet Bucs +10 and won
All 7 had Eagles -3. I bet Cowboys +3 and won
6/7 had Giants -3.5. I bet Chargers +3.5 and won.
5/7 had Bears -3. I bet Cardinals +3 and won.

The local newspaper is The Lake County News-Herald in Ohio. I'm sure you can find these picks somewhere online. Oh, By the way, ALL 7 Are picking the Steelers -3 for monday night. If you had a bad V-Betting weekend or are just looking to pad your total, I'd suggest laying a nice wager on Denver.

good observation. if you wanted to get serious about testing it, we need more data though. can you pull up past weeks picks?

with that said, i've noticed this to be the case quite often. the one that really jumps out was when the bengals were laying 5 to the browns. the whole world bet on the bengals and got taken to the cleaners. with my background in finance, it always raises a little red flag to me when i see an overwhelming majority of people thinking that an event will happen.

I almost cried at the end of the Jacksonville game. Up 24-7 with 6:00 to play and you give up 48 and 56 yard passes on the Chiefs next two drives to get them into the redzone and easily scoring TD's.
