HB Dontre 'DeSoto' Wilson (Official Thread)

No way you can sit Hyde.. He brings too much to the table.

He definitely brings a lot to the table, but not in the passing game. Hes hardly a receiving threat, and thatll be a knock on him going into the league
Wilsons versatility will benefit us even more the more he matures in the offense. A pure hybrid player in the running and passing game

Caught some balls against NW. He also started things off against PSU with a reception. I think he's a lot better than you give him credit for.

You're probably right. I'm just thinking of Carlos being a beast getting handoffs that I forgot he has had a few good receptions. Just think of his game more ground oriented, and not doing much on the receiving end, but he has shown sparks there too

With all of this option talk, are you guys still living in the 1940s? Lol
Uh, spread it out and put dontre in a mismatch in the slot, with a S having to cover him 1on 1. And go 5 wide with devin, Philly, Evan, and Michael Thomas. With hall in the backfield, since he's our best receiving RB, IMO. Thatd be a high powered offense.

Curious, where do you get that Hall is a better receiver out of the backfield?

To date:

Jordan Hall: 10 Rec, 37 Yds, 0 TD

Carlos Hyde: 7 rec, 57 yds, 1 TD

I really don't see the difference.

As far as Wilson is concerned, the kid has got some speed and I think he is just now starting to find his stride. He is not an every down type player, but he has already got the recognition from opposing coaches that he changes the D when he steps on the field since they have to account specifically for him.

He is prime to break one for a long TD soon. I just feel it.

I get it based on the fact that the staff strongly voiced in the off season that hall was our best receiving threat at RB and he was often put in the slot and was supposed to be our first true pivot player. The stats do say otherwise but our coaches definitely said they wanted him in the passing game.
Sorry to get off topic...
But in regards to dontre, I agree fully. A lot of parallels to deanthony thomas and percy harvin. Not a real defined position early in their careers, but coaches know just to get them the ball in space and watch out. Dontre may never be a true wr or rb, just a football player

Pnuts, the League? Cut him some slack. :) He's like fourteen and weighs 135 lbs. He's still trying to figure out how to get to class.
