HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

It is going to be an interesting off-season for Day. Let's hope he is as successful as a when he hired Knowles.
We'll know on the coaching front soon... if Parker Flemming I still employed by EoW we're in trouble...The fact he's made it to Monday morning is already concerning

It's no more concerning than the fact that he was still on staff this year.........but after the early signing period is when I would turn the concern meter up. Not that he's a lynch pin in anybody's recruitment, but it's not normal to fire a guy who's important enough to be one of the 10, unless you're Michigan and you can do whateverthefuck you want without any repercussions.

It will be interesting to see if McCord is a case of the rats leaving a sinking ship OR a case of the culture starting to sort itself out for the better.

Time will tell.
It will be interesting if Day does pick up a QB in the portal in the next few days. With all of the QBs entering the portal will Brown decide that he needs to jump in before it is to late or realize that the market is going to be saturated with transfer QBs and ride it out with Ohio State.

Young guys who would have had PT next year leaving is what I am concerned about. That would seem to indicate a certain amount of being a bad thing is going on.
Stokes is about the only young guy leaving that really had a chance for PT next year but even then it's likely as a backup .... Keep in mind a lot of these guys were brought in with Combs as DC and his mindset... so they might not fit well what Knowles runs and gave it a couple years and couldn't break through and were passed over/recruited over/portaled over ..... which I think everyone would be ok with this right? assuming they are leaving due to lack of PT...

I am starting to be concerned that our program is blowing itself up. Hope to be wrong.
Since we are, at minimum, 2 full seasons away before any changes will occur, we can only hope some things DO change.

Here's a list (obviously not inclusive):

1. The culture MUST change. It doesn't have to be a Greek Tragedy where everyone dies in the end, but there has to be more of a warrior culture within the program. The Dancing video with Day in the middle and the embarrassingly soft gritty fadeaway video stuff needs to end with this season.
To go back to my post last week...I think we're seeing the culture change.

Some of these guys were clearly told it would be an uphill battle to see the field. They could have stayed and fought for the spots, worked harder, etc etc, or leave. So the tree is shaking a bit.

Only time will tell if this is successful. I don't see any reason to worry about it being "blown" up....next year's schedule is pretty soft early on.

Thanks. That is what I am looking for. People who know the roster better, tell the rest of us if this is healthy turnover or are we losing kids we shouldn't be losing.
