HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

Pretty sure Day will get a contract extension for whatever it takes in the next month or two. OSU is one of a handful of programs with the cred and deep enough pockets to never lose a coach that they want to keep.

Re: The Ohio State University Board of Trustees today approved a five-year contract for head football coach Ryan Day that will pay him $4.5 million annually through the 2023 season.

He is signed thru the 2023 season and with the bonuses he'll probably top $5M this year. Keep in mind this is his 1st year as a head coach and he's doing it with Urban's players. With that being said; YEAH, I think he is the "real deal" and is underpaid compared to some other coaches, (i.e. Both Harbaugh and Jimbo are making in the area of $7.5M per year, however, Saban and Sweeney are in the $9M range).

Just sayin': As a head coach you are only as good as your assistant coaches (who are usually on 1 year contracts). If I had to guess I'd say he is more interested in getting more money for his assistants (to keep them here) than to renegotiate is own contract.

Ohio State's Ryan Day was named Big Ten Coach of the Year by the media on Tuesday, splitting the award with Minnesota's P.J. Fleck (who was voted as the winner by the coaches).

I'm just curious who Harbaugh voted for.....

You know. it wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that Day voted for Fleck and Fleck voted for himself.....
IDK man, but it for sure looks like those guys are literally never going to vote an OSU coach to win league COY. It doesn't matter how good the team is. Minnesota was lucky that PSU's Clifford threw 3 picks, otherwise they go 6-3 in the conference with no top quality wins.
