HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

We heard the same thing last year and the year before!
They didn't lose that much last year though. That's the whole thing. They had a team full of guys who have been there for 4-5 and in a couple cases 6 years. The average age of their lines was older than some NFL teams. Harbaugh greatly benefitted from that extra year of eligibility due to the Covid year where OSU doesn't tend to keep guys around that long. They also have an NIL program that is designed specifically to keep veteran players there for another year. I don't give a fuck about star ratings. When you can keep that many guys in your program for that long who have all bought in to what you're selling, you are going to build a beast. Nobody wants to admit that Simple Jim has put together the best team they've had since 2006, and maybe 1997. Urban never faced a TCUN team like this, and Tressel only a couple. It sucks but it's true. 'They cheated" only goes so far. In the end, the Bucks just didn't get it done. However, after this year they lose close to 50 of those long time guys, and the talent behind them isn't as good. That's why they have been hell bent on being all in this year......this year has been their best shot. Will the wheels fall off up there next year? Probably not, but there will be a big drop off, especially with a much tougher schedule in Texas, USC, Oregon and OSU.

Yes it is. Like @BuckeyeNation27 said. You guys are broke.

I get thinking that when you're drunk and angry but thinking that sober is insane.

There are many reasons to potentially fire him. But because TSUN won an NC isn't one of them
Agree to disagree. There is a long list of reasons to fire him, and maybe that isn't the top of the list, but if scUM wins the NC, it sets Ohio State back in the eyes of recruits.

You know this how? Are you being recruited? Are recruits stating this? It’s as assumption at this point and a fairly large leap. Are players not going to go to Bama, Georgia, etc. because they didn’t win the NC? People are so hell bent that Day be fired that they are grasping on to every little thing they can as proof he should be (not saying you are but some of the points that are being made are ridiculously rationalized).

No, but they aren't going to the rivals of Alabama and Georgia who are in the mix year in and year out. Do you see us being in the mix if this shit does not unfuck itself? If you are a kid with equal offers to Clemson and South Carolina, which one are you choosing? Georgia or Georgia Tech? Alabama or Barn? I think my point is that I just do not see Day fixing this. Nothing he has done shows me that this is within his capabilities. Yeah we just had an 11 win season, but I see 9-3 next year unless the O-Line is sorted.

Has anyone considered that Day might not get fired but instead go off and get a HC/OC job in the NFL? His presser after the Game kinda gave me that kinda vibe like "Peace I'm out and headed back to the NFL"

So much emotional investment and anger being put into something that is 100% not going to happen. We have a President on his first day on the job and an AD on his way out the door; they're not going to make a change. Day is absolutely on a hot seat next year, but getting worked up about him being fired now is useless.

The new President is going hire either the UW or UCLA AD. They'll discuss where the football program is and set some performance requirements for Day, and then we'll see how next year plays out.
Chun not in the hunt?

Actually, you can do more than just sit back. You can join the growing hoard of people openly rooting for loses!
Why would I do that ?

If you want to roll with Coach Day to deliver us a win over SCUM or a BIG Championship or even a NC that's fine. I'm taking the field in this .... Someone other then Day will accomplish these thing for OSU before he does.

So who is in the box for offensive coaches? Hartline and Day are on the field, so is Alford... Is Frye on the field? Where's Flemming? :slappy:
But seriously, how do you call an offense with all the guys on the sideline and no one in the booth with a bird’s eye view?

No wonder everything looks disjointed. I would swear it’s Day/Hartline pulling plays out of a hat every other play. No cohesion, no real gameplan.

So what you saw tonight against a team always legit in the trenches Bama

That was due to cheating?

Yes or no?

Look, we don't have proof of anything after the initial reports came out about the cheating scandal, but you really think they suddenly stopped cheating the day the news broke after almost 3 years of relying on the same things to ensure victory?

Why does anyone give them any benefit of the doubt? Harbaugh had a 5 year track record of being a solid coach bumblefucking his way to being fired. We know who he is. He's not a genius who had the lightbulb come on. His coordinators are not geniuses, at least not Jesse Minter. They fucking cheated in a way no one has ever cheated previously, and to my knowledge the only things that changed were Stallions being fired so he could work full time on his manifesto, and Jimmy getting bubble wrapped and put on a shelf for 4 hours so that the real HCs could coach the games.

There's no way they could've gotten around that!

I would be disappointed if Day left without ever seeing how well this team could be with someone else calling plays.
I don't think we need a massive overhaul; let Hartline call plays, edit the position coaches/ST coordinator and reload (and pray Will Howard joins).
Lastly, I wonder how LJsr would feel about a new position being created as essentially a co-CEO and get a new DL coach in. The negative recruiting done on him every year will only continue moving forward.
