The core issue with LJ has been negative recruiting, effective negative recruiting.
The solution needs to be public explicitly to dispel those rumors for recruits.

I think it's safe to assume BOB means Day has given up playcalling ?
That's at least 2 things on your list.
I agree we need more OL, and more answers on coaching staff for both lines. Seems like the former will have to wait for Spring, Frye for another month or so for BOB to settle in, and who knows what's up with LJ.

OL is definitely a concern still, but I think the C will be a big upgrade, and hopefully they'll bring in at least one more starter in the spring for LT/RT, although that might be hard to do depending on who is available. Only other positions of weakness are LB and TE, and it seems like they're at least interested in targeting another LB based on rumblings. Wouldn't mind another DL, I guess it just depends on how happy they are with Kanu and the other freshman's progress.

This is pretty much the best I could've expected out of Day. Pretty sure the LJ situation will work out in the next few months. Seems like a priority for them to set up a transition from him to another coach.

"It's a room that craves competition, and I think you will see that with all of the guys in the room. They are looking for a competitive spring. It's a great opportunity for them to start fresh with Coach O'Brien walking into the room. We know what the expectation is. I think the guys in that room know what the offense is, the surrounding cast and what's out in front of them. They started well this first couple of weeks. It will be a great competition. It will be fun to watch this spring."
