13. Upsets of the year

Utah over Michigan (Aug. 30): This one is too good to pass up. Utah comes to Ann Arbor with a veteran team (16 returning starters), a bulked up offensive line (averging 311 pounds), a physical tailback (Darrell Mack) and an Orange Bowl berth on the line. Last season, the Utes won at Louisville and TCU and put to rest Karl Dorrell's UCLA career.

Dodd shows that Utah is ranked in the combined rankings and not Michigan, and then picks Utah to win. Not really going out on a limb with that, is he?

It's scUM....not going out on a limb to begin with.

Over/Under on Michigan's season

So, you are in Vegas and are forced to bet on Michigan's season. You need the money so set your feelings aside and bet with your head. The Over/Under on Michigan is 7.5 wins. What do you bet?

I thought this was a good place to list SI's bowl projections:

BCS Title: tOSU
Rose: Wiscy
Capital 1: PSU
Outback: Iowa
Alamo: MSU
Insight: Northwestern
Champs Sports: Illlinois

si.preseason.bowl.projections

There's an obvious Big Ten team missing from the list. It would break the longest current bowl streak at 33 (just before they catch Nebraksa's record streak of 35 (broken in '04).

After witnessing that chineese fire drill of an offense against Utah I'm worried about them winning 6.

Let me say that better...I am worried about my chances of collecting my winnings at 7/1 odds if they win 6. If they fall short I think I will be able to find a silver lining in the loss of my Vcash. :wink2:

Blue= Win, Red= Loss

I thought the same thing at the beginning of the season - so far, so good (if you swap Wisky for () Toledo)

But... don't Minny and NW'ern look alot tougher now?
