You have to be in Cincinnati some time to hear snow hysteria in action. Last night's forcast went something like this, "1 to 5 inches of snow, followed by sleet and freezing rain and then it will warm up, but in late afternoon it will begin to freeze again. Look for the worst weather to hit around rush hour." I knew that meant that Dayton and Louisville were in deep kim chee and that Cincinnati would get a dusting. Sure enough I wake up this morning and the "snow" doesn't even cover the grass stubble in my yard... kinda of looks like Yasir Arrafat out there... and there's a layer of slush on top.

I hear the announcement the Cincinnati Public Schools are closed so I go to the NKU website and sure enough, NKU has cancelled all classes until 10. I teach an eight and a nine twenty-five. Snow Day!!!

I have to laugh.

No commentary from warm-weather posters allowed!

I'm sorry, but my past living in Iowa, Washington State, Wyoming, Illinois, Kansas, and Missouri allows me the odd comment. :tongue2:

I thought I'd die as a 5th grade safety patrol guy standing in a cross walk in front of the school in Witchita, where I could not keep my friggin "stop" sign on a pole in front of skidding cars because the winds blew it and me sideways into anyone dumb enough to try to walk across to school.

It was the longest, coldest time of my life of my life because they had not called a "snow day" during a friggin' Kansas plains blizzard.

They finally remembered to get us after 40 minutes and we all had frost bite on our faces.

Columbus drivers are pussies. Haven't encountered a day in the last 8 years where I'd have hesitated to drive. Wish I grew up here. You can pretty much count on using up all 5 snow days every year.

Yeah I never quite understood that either....

The best part is the right lane will have people doing 20 under the speed limit and the left lane (completely snow and/or ice covered) will have people doing at least 70 MPH....

Fun to watch
