How to Permanently Remove Files

ScarletInMyVeins said:
I want to delete a file that I downloaded to a point where a file recovery program wouldn't be able to detect it. How do I do that? I guess a guy got fired at work last week for downloading an mp3 file  so I gotta get rid of everything that I've ever downloaded.

chances are that he got busted by them seeing him download it in the proxy/firewall logs. removing everything from your pc will probably make you feel better, but if they've got you, your already done.

What the hell was the mp3 of, phone sex or something? It seems a bit extreme unless there was prior history, or they were just looking for an excuse.

Oh, and make some friends in the IT department.

Have some guy you don't like come in and "look" at your computer and then tell the IT guys you think he downloaded something on your computer :)

Evidently there was a virus or something attached to the mp3. I have made some friends in the IT department but they are all gone pretty soon because of outsourcing. Ya know... with all of the firings and outsourcing, I don't think my job is that secure
