Just saw a video clip of Louisiana. Pretty unreal. The weatherman mentioned the snow isn't going anywhere as it is supposed to be cold all week and then another small system which may include ice coming their way.

We are supposed to get about a half a foot tonight and again later in the week. But it's NE Ohio so that's not that big a deal.

DFW area: 5 degrees, windchill of -16. Numerous power outages. 4-5 inches of snow on the streets. But the sun is out.

Hope the sun is out in west Texas and thaws out some of the windmills that are not working.
sounds like the windmills are providing more power than expected during an event like this... we lost of a almost 26MW of nG power last night because they didn’t have fuel to run the plants.. or something.. how you ever allow a power plant to “freeze” is bordering on negligence

Our county judge said this afternoon that some of the peak load plants have come online and they are working to bring on more. It looks like the rolling blackouts are over. Now there are the outages caused by downed lines, etc.

My daughter and son-in-law's power was out, on, out, on, out for 5 hours, on for 1.5 hours and now out again. They and their kids and dogs have been here all day and probably overnight.

If memory serves me, we didn't have power as a kid because the piles of coal for the power plant were frozen over. Of course I was a kid, so who knows.

we’ve been out in our neighborhood since around 6am... no signs of it coming back on line... Rumor mill is already flying that Ercot has had utilities target some “they will be better prepared” areas to keep power off until wednesday ... but not the rich....
