First real snow in the forecast here. Supposedly 5 inches tomorrow night in Akron. Heard this is the 3rd least snowiest winter to date. And the records go back to the 1800s.

Georgia governor declared a State of Emergency for this amount of snowfall:

I can't remember seeing this much snow come down this fast. Less than 14 hours and I think we have 16 inches?

My apartment complex isn't plowed, and unless it's a state route, the city hasn't plowed shit yet. I was just joking the other day about missing my Caddy because it was better for the snow than my honda.
Heavier, AWD, a bit higher sitting. Nope, you're not making it through this without major 4x4 and even then it might not matter. Snowmobile or a 4wheeler are about your only consistent options. Sadly I got rid of my Grizzly a couple years ago and that thing WENT in the snow. I live less than 10 minutes from work... I can't make it in.

Stay safe, NEO friends.

I just ran the first pass with the snow blower. At least 12-18 inches on the west side of Cleveland and by far the most we've had in the 5 years we've been here. I think we're actually getting lake effect now, which never happens. I just went out to take out the trash, but the only way to get by the 3 foot drift outside the garage was to get out the blower. I'll have to go out again after they plow the roads, but since it's a holiday I expect to be snowed in most of the day.

We used to live on the east side and this still doesn't compare to the worst we had over there. There was one weekend before we had a snow blower that we shoved 18" off the driveway 3 times over 2 days. We lived a little south of the regular snowbelt but Mother Nature is a fickle bitch.

I used to live in Grand Rapids, MI years ago. Snow belt, but not as much snow as places like Erie, PA and Buffalo. We used to get snow what seemed every night though. Anyways, I interviewed for a job in Raleigh, NC at one point. I spent half the interview answering questions about living with snow and hockey, which I know nothing about.

Funny story. When we moved to OH from MI my new neighbor laughed at my snow blower telling me I would never use it. He was a college football coach, married with three young kids. He spent this time of the year on the road recriting. Well, the one winter we were neighbors we had a ton of snow and I kept clearing their driveway, because that's what you do. He came back from a trip, came over to visit with head down, and said - "Glad you have that snowblower." We just laughed.

I am currently watching a couple guys in their F250 trying to leave my apartment complex. They're stopping every 20ft or so, shoveling a bunch of snow around them, then moving up another couple car lengths.

Good work boys, only another 1000ft or so to go.

edit: I'd say between 16-18 inches in the middle of the roads here.
please tell me they at least have the bed of the truck empty and possibly don’t have it in 4x4 to make it all the more comical
