Hey everyone. I saw a post not to long ago about how much weight you have put on since high school. Well for health reasons, i need to drop about 50-60lbs....thats alot. but it has to be done. Does anyone have any tips on how to lose some weight. Obviously a healthy diet and excercise, but does anyone have any secrets they would like to share. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

A good disease often works. Nothing drops the pounds like a case of malaria.....or how 'bout sopme good old fashioned scurvy? Ricketts?

I had a friend who lost about 40 pounds after being dianosed with the GERD (Which is something like Gastroesophogeal reflux disorder)-- you could look into that.

Smoking helps too. :wink2:

Anyway... the "secret" is simply excercise... no pain no gain... and the amount of suffering does correlate with the results... and a healthy diet. I've heard body for life does wonders... but there's no secret to it... it works because it does it the old fasioned way.

Anyhow.. if there's one thing I've done that's helped me, its swimming.. and I only swim once a week as part of my 3 to4 workouts... but its been the "icing on the cake" for me.... I took out a weight training session and replaced it with 30-45 minutes in the pool and I've gotten really good results.

Exercise and changing your eating habits works. Even if you start out slow like walking a few miles a day or doing 10-20 minutes of cardio... It's worked for me in the past I just need to get back in a routine. One you pass the first week it becomes a lot easier.
