If Tressel retired today, who would you want to replace him?

I think Meyer would want to bring in one of this own guys though on offense anyway, or at least a guy similar in philosophy. Not saying Hazell couldn't be the OC of a Meyer offense..but the philosophy is different at least between the offenses Meyer and Tressel runs..not sure how much of a Tresselball philosopher Hazell is (we'll see pretty soon I'd guess) but I'd imagine they fall along similar lines.

I understand your point of view, I just see it differently.

Clearly Meyer was missing his combined QB/FB Tebow this year, but when he was at Utah I don't think Alex Smith was utilized the way Tebow was. And at BG I don't think he used the QB as a FB either. Thus I don't think Meyer is completely rigid in his offense - he/Addazio just didn't adapt well to not having Tebow. Its tough to change outright when a set of plays have yield two national championships.

I like Harbaugh also. I do not like Urban Meyer though. I would want someone who I know would stay. However, if Urban stayed, he would be a great get considering his ability to recruit the south. Two names I would like to see get consideration would be Greg Schiano and Dan Mullen.

My top 5:
Jim Harbaugh
Bo Pelini
Dan Mullen
Greg Schiano
Mark Dantonio

[censored]ing half those clowns have no ties to the state of ohio or the university.

Ohio State does not have to open up a nation wide search. They can stay instate and do just fine.

Wonder if that is what Florida fans said of Meyer and Bama fans said of Saban? If they did, I'm sure they forgot about it after 2 national championships in 4 years....What do you think?

We are not alabama and we sure as hell are not florida. The state of ohio is a breeding ground for coaches. We went out of state not to long ago (cooper) and that did not work out as well. I want a guy who understands the ohio high school coaches, who understands ohio state traditions, and is a ohio man.

If you don't believe those things i mentioned are important than ask michigan

Just asked them and they said that Lloyd Carr did okay. And they said thanks for Bo.

They weren't used identically as they were not identical players. In 04 Smith still carried the ball 135 times (2nd most on the team) for 631 yards (2nd most on the team) and 10 touchdowns. He was lights out throwing the ball, but it was still a Meyer offense. He still likes to have that option to the point of bringing in spell qb's in order to get it (this year with Trey Burton, Tebow his freshmen year). That of course i only a part of the difference between a Tressel and a Meyer offense..Meyer would only be interested in bringing him in if he felt he would be able to and willing to run HIS system

You idiot...Carr was a michigan man. Graduated from a high school in michigan and coached at michigan several years before he got the job.

As for Bo...Bo knew the state of ohio better than any coach possibly could. True he was not a michigan man but he was a coach that knew the talent around the area. Plus he was somebody that knew the rivalry

Good try

First of all, do men really call one another names from behind a keyboard? I don't, nor will I ever. Second of all, I know Lloyd was a Michigan man, but Lloyd was born in Tennessee. I apologize for the misunderstanding. I see what you are saying, just be affiliated with the state or program...I totally understand your view. But I still like some of the other coaches too. Agree to disagree. That does not make me an idiot.
