Not who you want to see in the title game, are you pro or anti-rematch, etc etc ...

Simply, if you had a vote in the AP, Coaches or Harris polls, who would you vote #2 today?

Agreed...but also the fact that (inspite of 'only' a 3 point margin of victory) scUM already got 'destroyed' in their match vs. tOSU.

They can say "we only lost by 3 to the #1 team, at their home", but I say: they played nearly flawless football, and were given 3 turnovers (two of them completely unforced and setting up extremely short fields), and they were still losing my multiple scores the entire game.

A one loss SEC Champ with that schedule should get the nod.

I voted for Michigan for the following reasons:
They would beat Auburn easily in my opinion
They would beat Florida pretty easily in my opinion
They lost to the #1 team on the road while Florida lost to the #10 team on the road by 10
Michigan had close games with PSU and Ball State in addition to a bunch of 2 TD victories
Florida squeeked by Georgia, Vandy, South Carolina, and FSU
Strength of schedule was almost the same with a very slight edge to Florida

Is it Michigan's fault that they had to play the best team in the country while Florida did not? If conferences did not exist or Michigan was independent, would you still feel that Florida should be ranked higher than Michigan?

Personally, I would rather see a Florida matchup though since OSU has already beaten Michigan. However, shouldn't the best team be rated #2 instead of manipulating it for a certain matchup or to avoid a rematch?

Taking the rematch scenario out of it, etc. I would vote Michigan #2. I believe they are better than Florida, Boise State and Oklahoma. If I had a vote in a poll of consequence, however, I might well put Florida #2 because of the rematch. Again, that's not because I believe Florida is better than Michigan, but because I am against non-conference champs playing for all the marbles.

All else being equal, I believe Michigan, who I hate to the very core of my existance, is the second best team in the country. I do not like the idea of a rematch because I do not think they deserve a second chance at it. However, under the current system I see no reason why Michigan should not be rated number 2 and I think manipulation of the polls to create a certain outcome is a slippery slope at best and downright fraudulent at worst. If the system needs changed, change it, don't use fradulent means to get around it.

The only thing I know for sure is that scUM was the #2 team on the field on Nov. 18th. :) I honestly don't know who is "better" without seeing them play each other. I vote Florida because I did see the Auburn game and thought the got jobed by the refs on the fumble call. Without that call, we woudln't likely be having this argument. (It's not my only reason, but its at least as valid as the scUM "lost well" to tOSU)
