2025 IL DE Christopher Burgess (Notre Dame Verbal)

Pipe dream. Domer

I guess not so much. If he was an Ohio State lean that got talked into ND at the last minute last week - I think we will see him switch eventually. Last week OSU was looking shaky at multiple positions, and question marks in the coaching staff. I have a feeling he’s going to get to South Bend and watch us compile a title run team next year that he wishes he were on. Long way to go and the Bucks are making the right moves.

Funny how wrong we are about these recruitments as outsiders. People on multiple message boards, including this one, assumed this was an ND/ttun battle, only to find out OSU had the upper hand in the end. With that in mind it’ll be interesting to see if OSU can get him to reconsider. That’s two elite defensive prospects OSU has been out recruited for by the domers in the past six months.

Somebody else might, but presently I have no faith in LJ to get back in and flip highly rated kids.
Asking here, not questioning your opinion(because I partially agree with you): but is the issues in DL recruiting due to LJsr or issues with the OSU collectives? Because with NIL I see honestly less fault in coaches for losing top recruits, but put more emphasis on the NIL’s for OSU not willing to be aggressive enough in their fund raising
IDK, I could be wrong

It’s because every coach in the country are telling all DL recruits that LJ won’t be here for long. He is signing 1 year contracts rather than the standard 2. So while it’s not a result of his coaching, it is a result of his age and lack of confidence in people believing he will stick around

It's probably a little of both, but NIL is what it is.
What i see is a lot of schools negatively recruiting LJ -- and successfully.
Not everyone takes the biggest bag; it's just part of the equation. But if you aren't the top bidder AND you have an unstable situation, that's going to be pain.
It doesn't even matter if the situation isn't actually unstable either -- if everyone believes it is. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
Throw in the disagreements with Knowles, and i think it's time to find a plan and move on. A plan that the staff can point to and dispel the negative recruiting.
That at least puts us back on track with kids and families who are open to taking less NIL for the right opportunity in a stable environment.
