Game Thread Illinois at tOSU - Nov 3rd, 3:30 pm ESPN

That illini team was actually pretty decent at 7-3 (4-2) coming in. They had some pretty good players on both sides of the ball...Juice, Mendenhall, Benn, Martez Wilson, Lehman, Vontae Davis. This illini team bares no resemblance. They're in a death spiral. This has all the makings of a slaughter.

Just expecting that annual let down game that had become commonplace. I won't be disappointed if it doesn't arrive.

I would agree but we said that about Indiana... and Purdue... and California... and UAB. Let's face it, this team is WILDLY inconsistent. No game is for certain a blowout this season

If they can play as consistent as they did at PSU, this will be a >35pt blowout.

if they play that well against Illinois, it'll be more like a Oregon/Colorado style blowout.

I want to see us play like we did from the start of the second quarter against Nebraska. If we do, this could be a 70-point medieval ape-fucking...

In an underrated kind of way, I think this is the most important game of the season. I have no doubt that this team will be mentally ready for Wisco and scUM. Illinois however has no business even being on the field with us at this point. The lesson for this week "Play em 1 game at a time, and don't look ahead". Either this team figures this lesson out in practice this week and crushes the Illini all day, or they learn it during the game and send a portion of the fan base into convulsions with a narrow margin of victory. I'd prefer the lesson learned in the week approach, but at the end of the day being 10-0 will make me happy.

Speaking of Indiana, Wisky is going to find out exactly how underrated this Indiana team is. With Stave out, I wouldn't be surprised if the badgers lose their next 3 games.

I watched the Illinois/Wisconsin game. Their [Illinois] QB is just awful. No deep threats, subpar defense, and an ineffective running game.

My daughter says that the band has posted on their FaceBook page that this is a 3:30 kickoff with Skull Session slated for noon.

The band must be right, right?

Post #13 of this thread states 3:30 kickoff...I'll go ahead and update the thread title.

If you missed the word late last night, Illinois at Ohio State on Saturday will be a 3:30 start.

This is true. But, I think there are some viable excuses for those...

IU- they went off after it appeared the game was in hand. I think the D let off the throttle and was caught off guard at the end. That led to...

Purdue- D played much better, first play aside. The solid D carried over to ped aggy, so I think we've come out of the dark there. The O definitely struggled, but Brax came out right after the type of play that has served as an offensive launching pad several times this year.

I'm willing to chalk up UAB and Cal to early season "yips" of a young team learning a radically different offensive scheme.

Illinois is probably the worst team in the B1G this year. The team is playing with confidence now, and most of the defensive woes have subsided the past two weeks. Plus, Beckman really looks like he's lost that team. Maybe their pride kicks in this week and they come out inspired, but I think we're more likely to speedboat them than get in an unexpected dogfight. Plus, I'll be in the stadium, and their track record when I'm in attendance is excellent.

NF, I think you should make this thread up to the game kind of a tribute to our banned friend.
