Indiana @ tOSU, Sat Nov 12, 12pm, FOX

Who thinks a whole lot of "pissed off" is going to be taken out on the Hoosiers?

I mean, I think they sure as shit need to be. I don’t know what practice looks like but if intensity needs to ramp the fuck up so be it; you want to be playing your best football towards this part of the season and this is literally the worst they’ve looked — for a multitude of reasons.

i hope there were some intense conversations in the room on Sunday amongst the coaches too because some of the calls, minor mishaps and whatever the bell else you want to call some of the other stuff we’ve seen — is going to get them absolutely smacked on thanksgiving weekend.

I don’t care if NW “only had one scoring drive” you knew they could literally only do one thing on offense and you let this game go to the third quarter. Call me dramatic but I found it concerning they couldn’t just go out and steamroll a team with one win.

So yeah, I hope some people are pissed from coaches to players - and I hope it gets taken out on IU and the rest of their opponents for the remainder of the season.

I’ll take accusations of being dramatic or off base, I just think some gaps needs to get closed asap or there were be some really unhappy campers soon.

Odds that Trevyon is back for this one and Miyan sits this one out?

yeah, this flip-flopping of backs each game is wild. They compliment each other but only when they are both on the field. Gotta get them both healthy.

DraftKings Sportsbook odds: Ohio State -40.5
https://www.landgrantholyland.com/2...-buckeyes-football-hoosiers-2022-betting-line

For the second consecutive week, Ohio State will be a huge favorite over its opponent, as the Buckeyes open as 38-point favorites over Indiana.
With Ohio State favored by more than five touchdowns for next Saturday's matchup in Columbus, the over/under is set at 54.5. Luckily for the Buckeyes, it appears as though they will have much better weather for this matchup than their game in Evanston Saturday afternoon, although it will be a bit cold.

Need to use these next 2 weeks to figure out the run game, otherwise that TTUN game will be a repeat of last year. Our inability to be creative and actually work a run game is going to bite us again. For example, I have not yet seen guards pulling, it's been focused on 1-on-1 matchups, just hope the O-line beats their defender.

Limit the passing attempts to 15 for the game. These should be practice/pre-season games... committee thinks we are the 2nd best team in the country, need to start playing like it.

To bastardize a quote: The scheme, the scheme, the scheme.

The running scheme is, primarily, zone read run blocking. That means everyone has a zone to block (left or right), not a man per se, not 1 on 1 matchups, it's all about blocking the man in the zone. It also is very vulnerable to slants and blitzes so having CJ pull it a time or 3 really helps keep things moving.

Edit to add: The last TD on the day was an old school ISO blast play. I absolutely loved it and they've run it a few times this year, usually with some measure of success. It's NOT their identity but claiming they can't run block is kind of ludicrous.

There are pull/trap plays, but they aren't quite the magic ticket to the running game. CJ pulling the ball once or twice absolutely IS that magic ticket. And not having to run into a 10 man box because you're in a damn tropical storm, which leads me to the next point....

Hell no. You DON'T change what works just to satisfy some need to "fix" a running game by forcing things. Fuck the rankings, fuck the committee, fuck all that shit. Win and they are in.

Just modify the blocking assignments in the run game. Man it up and quit the reach blocks to make it simple. The bread and butter are your QB and WR's. We just run because we can. That's how it is in this Offense. We can be good at it if you don't handcuff the line and let the Defense know what is coming. Fuck the sneaky shit and just punch people in the mouth! No one can cover the corps of receivers and CJ was actually pretty damn accurate in a hurricane. Bring the damn attitude and tell the other team we don't care what you do, we are still going to whip your ass. Then go and do it. Stop with the cute shit!

We can’t get thru a press conference without talking about “toughness” yet we don’t actually know until kick off whose going to play.
The amount of guys who have missed games without being injured in the prior weeks game is infuriating.
We’ve literally had guys injured in pre-game.
Hancock didn’t play a snap this past weekend.

Cam Brown has been “close” for a month.

Does anyone truly believe JSN will play again.

I’m done with the “rest guys until Michigan our 3rd string could beat x”.
Hoping we can just flip a switch.

We need to take these next 2 weeks andfix our effing issues.
Stop the run and run the ball.
All hands on deck.
Stop the let’s make sure everyone is in pristine condition and just show up for Michigan and pray for perfect weather.

I disagree. That's not the strength of this team and it won't be no matter what you do in the next two games.

Embrace what you are, stop trying to prove something and run the offense. There's nothing wrong with passing to set up the run. In 2018 Ohio State got 50.8% of their rushing yards with less than 10 minutes to go in the 4th quarter after running TTUN ragged on crossing routes. TTUN was out rushing Ohio State until the last drive of the game. Use your weapons, and when they're tired of chasing Egbuka and Harrison and Fleming down the field, step on their neck with Miyan.

We will be better than the last few weeks but honestly I'm expecting to

If anything you steer heavily into what makes us a good offense and then set up the run based off of that.

That only works if we start to run the ball from passing formations though. Imagine how effective Williams would be running a zone read after CJ keeps on one play and throws a pass option on another. Imagine how successful Tre would be if we ran the ball from a 4 WR set forcing a team to only have 6 in the box.
