iPhone/iPad App Recommendations & Reviews

SIAP... but when does BP move into the 21st century with an iPod/iPad/Android app?

I think Clarity mentioned something to that effect in the thread for the new server back when it came online.

There are apps like Tapatalk that work with vBulletin forums. RedsZone is one forum that I visit that is compatible.

It would be nice to have for accessing BP on phones, since it would make better use of the smaller screen and enhance speed and battery life by not having to load graphics from the web page every time. On the iPad though, browsing and posting thru Safari works just fine thanks to the larger screen and keyboard.

Think about how many car wrecks there would have been Memorial Day weekend if there had been a BP app during that time.

It would be nice to have, though. :wink2:

Yup- that's the one that ShaggyBevo uses... it's pretty easy to work with on the user side, but I have no idea about the setup aspect.

(don't look at me that way... you know you read the Shag for ThuJone's stuff too. It's not like I'm cheating on BP... we're still cool, right?)

My Audi board is audizine.com and it's on vbul as well. They have a mobi version of the site that works well too.

I do like the idea of something other than safari on my iphone. Got my vote.

Willing to be a beta tester

 DirecTV is a satellite service, not a cable service...

DirecTV has Internet service, and their own wireless Ethernet hubs.

Same deal with the TimeWarner TV app for the iPad -- the iPad has to be on the same IP as assigned to your device from the carrier. I cannot take my iPad to work and watch TV on it over our RoadRunner Business Class circuit since it's a different IP lease than what I have at home (I know, I've already tried).

TUAW: Google releases official iOS Gmail app

I'm gonna download it and play with it, but probably delete it. I'm a longtime Gmail user, and it's my primary non-work email address. I already connect to Gmail through the native Mail app and go through MS Exchange to have my Gmail pushed to me along with my work emails. It looks like the only thing that this app does that I would find useful would be the ability to add a star to messages - something I do rarely. If I do need to star an email now I simply re-mark it as unread and take care of it through the web or when I'm on another computer. For me, I don't think it'll be worth it to have a mostly redundant app just to add this capability.

EDIT: It has already been pulled from the App Store by Google due to a bug.

All the app really is is a webview. Kinda lame. At least if you point Safari to the webapp and bookmark it on your homescreen you get a better looking icon with a white background instead of a black one.

This would be great. Im on BP almost all day at work (shhh don't tell the boss) and this would help save battery for sure.

I'm on a few jeep forums and they both have an app. It's simple to use, clean, and pretty quick too.

I'm looking for a calendar app, on that has a login where my wife and I can keep track of our schedules together. The calendar app on iPhone already is very minimal and doesn't have many options.

Or if there's not an app maybe one that I could use online as a website or something?

You can do a joint Google Calendar and use it thru the native Calendar app by setting it up to sync thru the MS Exchange option.

It's kind of a bear to set up at first, but my Google Calendar works pretty well for me on my iPhone. The only difference between yours and mine is that you'd be sharing the login with another person.
