Viewers of last night's Clemson-Florida State overtime thriller couldn't help but notice how often ESPN's broadcast on ABC showed suspended FSU quarterback Jameis Winston. Indeed, after every big play it felt like the cameras went to Winston to see the Heisman Trophy-winner's reaction. But how much of the broadcast was really dedicated to a player who would never appear in the game?

Look...it's easy to see why the guy won the Heisman. He's gifted physically, and yes, even when you look at him on the sideline, you can tell he's into the game, supporting his teammates to an extent. He's encouraging on the sideline, he's talking with McGuire between possessions, and he's helping to coach up receivers.

But....why was he even in the FREAKING STADIUM AT ALL?!?

When Dantonio suspended Bullough, he didn't go to the stadium:

Urbs suspended Spence and held him out indefinitely.
Was he with the team on the sideline? NO....he wasn't:

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State defensive end Noah Spence failed his second drug test since December and was subsequently suspended indefinitely late last week.
Urban Meyer, however, said after the Buckeyes' 66-0 win over Kent State that Spence's situation is still being evaluated. While that's happening, Spence is still practicing with the Buckeyes.
"He's doing things to get healthy," Meyer said. "But he's also, you know, we're supporting him."

Bo Pelini suspended a possible starter at safety for the ENTIRE YEAR:

Nebraska's defensive backfield suffered another setback Friday when coach Bo Pelini announced that sophomore safety LeRoy Alexander has been suspended for the 2014 season.
A news release from Nebraska media relations didn't specify the reason for the suspension, and said Pelini wouldn't comment further on the matter.
The Lincoln Police Department and UNL police said they had no record of any recent contact with Alexander.
Alexander has participated in Nebraska's first week of fall camp. He will remain on scholarship and be allowed to practice with the team this season, Pelini said.

Satan down in Tuscaloosa even suspended guys this year:

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- University of Alabama coach Nick Saban announced following the first practice of fall camp that Brandon Ivory, Jarran Reed and Tim Williams have been suspended for "violation of team rules and policies."

"Each guy can return to the team upon completion of the requirement of what they have to do relative their suspension," Saban explained. "We have no date that I can give you when that's going to be completed."
Ivory, a senior who started all 12 games last season at nose guard, was one of only five returning starters from 2013. Reed, a junior college transfer, was expected to compete for first-team reps on the defensive line as well. And Williams, a former four-star defensive end who appeared in seven games as a true freshman last season, was expected to compete for reps at outside linebacker.

We all know Bobby Bowden was a sleezeball. But he was a sleezeball with class. You knew he was cheating. He knew that YOU knew he was cheating, too. But he did it with class.

For some odd reason, I think of this scene from one of my favorite movies....one guy is Jimbo, one is Bobby. Who do you think is who?

I'm still stunned he dressed in full gear to warm up. The not-discussed issue here is why was his full uniform hanging in his locker to begin with? It's not like he brought his gear with him from home, so somebody within that locker room enabled him to make an ass of himself and the program.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska's Ameer Abdullah, a candidate for this year's Heisman Trophy, says 2013 winner Jameis Winston of Florida State needs to clean up his act.
Abdullah and Winston both grew up in the Birmingham, Alabama, area and trained together at the same gym. He said he considers Winston a friend.

"It's kind of hard for me to understand what's going on with him right now, but from a general standpoint it's the maturity level," Abdullah said Monday. "Think before you act. Understand the bigger picture. Everything that you do, say or how you present yourself can have dire consequences. That's something I feel like he definitely needs to assess more."

Winston was suspended for Saturday's overtime win against Clemson after making "offensive and vulgar" comments about female anatomy on campus. Last April, Winston was caught leaving a supermarket without paying for crab legs and crawfish and was ordered to perform community service. Winston also was accused of sexually assaulting a student in 2012 but a prosecutor declined to press charges.

Abdullah, a 21-year-old senior, said the 20-year-old sophomore Winston seems to lack common sense.

"He's a very intelligent young man," he said. "But he's made his fair share of mistakes. It gets to the point where you feel like he needs to start understanding and take things more seriously because these things can alter what happens in his future."

Abdullah added: "Every situation you do, you represent not only yourself, the university, your family, people who go to the university. So being that guy who's the star down there, he holds much bigger weight than he realizes sometimes ... I know he's much better than what he's shown."

Otis Leverette, a former NFL defensive end, confirmed that Abdullah and Winston trained together at his Birmingham gym. Abdullah and Winston went to different high schools, but Abdullah said they attended football camps together and have known each other since eighth grade.

Abdullah said last week's incident was a head-scratcher to him.

"Maybe he feels like he needs to be this guy in the spotlight all the time just because of who he is down there," Abdullah said. "Maybe he's doing things trying to be the guy making people laugh, but he's doing it in a very negative spotlight."

Abdullah said he doesn't accept the excuse that Winston is making mistakes because he's young.

"You should see yourself as a young guy but hold yourself to a higher level of maturity," Abdullah said. "Definitely he has a long way to go."

It's because they are pimping him as an Alabama boy, I shit you not. Forget that he goes to Nebraska for school they are literally pimping him as an Alabama high school Heisman candidate and friend of Jameis Winston.

For fucks sake.
