James Madison Dukes at Ohio State, November 28, 4 PM, BTN

4 PM Tip---thread title is incorrect

The Dukes are not that bad of a team compared to what we have faced this season so it should be a nice warm-up for Tuesday night when we go to Louisville. However, I still think we were here quite a bit about Tom Hamilton's and Jim Jackson's Thanksgiving and especially the mac & cheese that Jackson had at his house.

Breaking down the Dukes: James Madison plays on the road for the first time this season riding a four-game winning streak. The Dukes lost their season-opener to then-No. 9 Virginia. ... This is the third time Ohio State and James Madison are meeting. They split the first two meetings, Ohio State winning 72-44 in 2009 and JMU knocking off the Buckeyes in the 1982 NCAA Tournament. ... The last time James Madison beat a team from a pose conference came in coach Matt Brady's first season in 2008-09, a 79-64 win over Seton Hall. ... James Madison was picked to finish fifth in the Colonial Athletic Association in a preseason poll done by media relations directors, reporters and head coaches. ... Sophomore guard Jackson Kent, who averages 15.3 points per game, is JMU's leading scorer.

That isn't to say that James Madison is without weapons though. Their leading scorer, 6'7 swingman Jackson Kent, is a three-point specialist, hitting double figures in every game this year, and is shooting .542 from downtown, on his way to 15.2 points per game. The Dukes know how to take good shots, move the ball, and could make this game a little more interesting if Ohio State is sloppy defensively, especially in giving up inside looks. The Buckeyes still have enough size, shooting, athleticism and speed to win this game comfortably if they show up with full enthusiasm. We'll see if anybody gets caught looking ahead to Louisville.

I agree that JMU is not a pushover for OSU. I believe they are getting their leading scorer Andre Nation back for this game, coming off a 5-game suspension. I suspect this one will be much more competitive than the other guarantee games OSU has played thus far.

We need to start seeing something from one of our big men started today before we had to Louisville. I thought that Williams which show some improvement from last season but have not seen it so far this year. I also thought that Lee was going to bring more to the court but he has sort of been a disappointment so far. I think that McDonald deserves to play a little more but I sure wish that he would have worked on his free-throw shooting over the summer..

Given that Trey leads the team in rebounding (6.3) while playing only 13 min/game, more PT seems warranted. But you're right; he's a third-degree Mason once he steps to the line.

BTW, thanks for the note on tipoff time, as I had my DVR set for 7 pm ...

Definitely some things to work on......got up big early but really sloppy the rest of the way. Too many turnovers and offensive rebounds allowed. I guess it's good to know they can win on a night when the shooting goes to hell. I think all 6 3's were made in the first 8 minutes of the game.
