Like it or not...and some on here clearly don't like it and are very butt hurt about it, but the fact is...Penn State IS a rival.

There is a difference between being "a" rival and "the" rival.

Comparing Boise State playing USC and Penn State and Ohio State playing is just silly.

You do realize Penn State beat Ohio State 2 out of 3 times prior to last Saturday in the Shoe...right?

I mean, I could see if Penn State had a terrible record vs. Ohio State, but they don't:

13 wins to 16 losses. Seems pretty competitive to me.

And by the way...Boise State has literally never played USC...so using that comparison is moronic.

It's hilarious to me that you quoted his post but ignored his point entirely.

That thread is full of hatred because they covered for a pedophile, not because of some imaginary rivalry.

Hating vile behavior is not the same as a rivalry, especially when said team has been as successful as North freaking Western since joining the conference they were too good for.

p.s. There's a 2300 page thread on what song we're listening to.

Penn State should have been the unquestioned third best program with many years as a top-2 team, especially with how mediocre Michigan has been in recent years.


Instead they joined a league they thought they'd run and imploded spectacularly without ever recovering.

Instead of ruling the next tier of programs who barely recruited any recruits of consequence (MSU, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Iowa, etc) if any at all, they became just another program that recruited so poorly (against a freaking Big East team) that their home turf in recruiting was Maryland.

Of course they are. Everyone lives for the Illibuck trophy. That game isn't dwarfed by the UM, Wisconsin, PSU, OOC, Purdue & Michigan State matchups.

I mean, who can forget all of those pregame quotations thrown back and forth between the two teams? I mean, surely there's one out there that you can recall, given it being an indisputable fact.
