Jim Bollman (Stay calm and run Dave)

What I got out of the whole thing is that they: 1) self reported to the NCAA, 2) sent Bollman a harsh reprimand, 3) it remains in his file for (apparently) the whole world to see, 4) it wasn't hidden or swept under the rug, 5) it didn't result in NCAA sanctions, 6) it goes to show that Ohio State takes compliance very seriously, and reports even the smallest possible infractions to the NCAA.

People need to understand that the presence of such a file, with evidence that possible infractions were reported is a GOOD thing. It shows that Ohio State doesn't ignore and hide stuff. You would have to be an idiot to think that all colleges don't have the same kinds of issues arise from time to time. The difference is how they DEAL with them. Ohio State is one of the good guys. They do things the right way, even when it's a seemingly small matter, to keep SEC-like corruption from setting in.

Morris claimed to be good friends with Clarett. If Mr Such & Such was handing out money and giving away cars, why did the Morris family find it necessary to apply for a $3,000 loan to the bank? After all, Morris was the top O lineman in the 2002 recruiting class. I would think that this is the type of recruit the boosters would want to take care of. A measly $3k, come on - that's chump change to the Tressel mafia, right? Isn't that the story the press had been peddling? Where was the Trssel mafia with the cheese? LOL!!!

I would have posted over here, but I couldn't get on here at work.

Anyway, Tim May is a hack.

He called in to Spielman's show and the pussy didn't go on the air. Bruce Hooley reported that May called in and told him that:
a) The Morris family put Bollman's name down as a reference for a loan and that Bollman didn't know anything about it.
b) He told the Morris family where he got his car because they were looking for a car.

Hooley did say that there was some impropriety as far as the tutor, but didn't elaborate.

But here's what's on 1460 in Columbus all day today on the updates:

"The Dispatch is reporting that Jim Bollman was reprimanded by Andy Geiger for improprieties involving recruit Derek Morris that include arranging for loans, arranging for a car, and a tutor for Morris."

Going by what the author of the story said, that headline is complete bullshit.

Well I love tressel and I'm not saying I think it was him, but I'm surprised no one has said anything about maybe Tressel being somewhat involved? now I pray he isn't, but maybe I don't know enough? did tressel know about this?

I had suspected that there may have been something like this going on when Geiger announced the uncermonious dumping of Derek Morris as a member of the recruiting class.

The way that was handled back then should have let us know that the kid would have meant NCAA sanctions if he had enrolled.

exactly. It's over and dealt with. I just think it's silly to act like Bollman is completely innocent here.
Yes, I agree. How many "little mistakes" does it take to connect the dots? Hasn't Bollman done enough harm as offensive line coach and "offensive coordinator" ? And sooner or later, shouldn't some of the shit start to stick with the guy in the sweater vest?

The only thing about that update I didnt like is when Daily stated who his recruiting him.... I think it's widely known that Bollman is our worst recruiter..

Hes had personal contact with Jim Tressel though, at the Pro Day and the Texas Game I believe. He said something about how he is amazed at how Tressel remember names and it really meant alot that he knew Andrews name.
