Seems like a 180 from last year. You want to be the underdog in this one. Bad.
"Florida should not be in there over Michigan"
"Florida only got in because USC lost"
"Florida has no offense"
"Ohio State has a chance to go wire to wire. Ohio State Ohio State Ohio State Ohio State"

You cannot tell me this statements didn't get the Gators going just a tiny bit.

I think those statements also got to Ohio State, too.

Not that you guys need reminding, but consider yourselves lucky to have Jim Tressel as your head coach. I just finished watching an interview on ESPN, and was reminded once again how impressed I am with him. The guy is the epitome of class.

Now if only Les Miles could take a few notes before his next public speaking event..................

As another LSU fan, I second that. You guys have an incredibly classy head coach.

Three national championship opportunities in six years, six wins in the greatest rivalry in college football, an absolute master when the media is around, and I hear that the guy can recruit a little bit. We, as fans, have been tremendously fortunate to experience this. Another outstanding coaching job by JT and the staff. Appreciate the effort that went into this past season, especially when you consider all of the players that had to be replaced. Sure would be nice to cap it off with a national title, but just to be in this position, is a tribute to all involved with the program, especially the head coach.

Speaking of....anyone know what a BCS Championship win does for Tress per his contract terms?

Does that make him the 4 Million dollar guy & match Nick Satan?
there was talk last year about his contract before NC game. This was mostly in regards to the Browns supposedly looking to nab Tressel.

He current makes an average of 2.45 mil a year on a 7-year $17 million deal. I read that he gets $200,000 for making it to the NC game and reports last year said that if he won the NC game his current contract would be voided and OSU and Jim would renegotiate a new contract.

FWIW, I read in 2002 that he only has two bonuses written in to his contract..........one for academic improvement, and the other for a NC berth. He suppoedly declined others........10 games, beat scUM, Rose Bowl, etc. He thinks that's what he's supposed to do. Don't know if it's changed, but that's what it was 5 years ago, if I recall correctly.

Tressel makes sure to vote in final coaches poll this season
After receiving criticism for abstaining from the last coaches poll a season ago, Tressel makes his choice this year.

One of the first questions reporters were anxious to ask Jim Tressel concerned his vote in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll.

Tressel, the Ohio State football coach, declined to vote for the final rankings last season after the Buckeyes already had clinched a spot in the national championship game, a decision that drew wide criticism.

"I was scolded pretty good last year for not voting," Tressel said Sunday night after the announcement that top-ranked Ohio State will play Louisiana State in the BCS national championship game Jan. 7. "Grant Teaff (executive director of the American Football Coaches Association) told me if I didn't do it this year, I'd never be able to vote the rest of my life."
