Michigan LB Joe Bolden says tent spike incident at Michigan State was 'blown out of proportion'

Michigan linebacker Joe Bolden said his act of planting of a tent spike in the Spartan Stadium turf just prior to kickoff of last year's game with Michigan State was "blown out of proportion, completely'' and that "it was taken completely the wrong way.''

Bolden was asked about the controversial incident while at the podium for the Big Ten media days Friday.

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio and quarterback Connor Cook made it clear following their 35-11 win over the Wolverines that they took offense to Bolden's spike-in-the-ground moment.

"They disrespected us right out of the gate," said Cook, who was so incensed that he lowered his shoulder and ran over a Michigan defender on MSU's opening offensive series. "We weren't having that, so if we had the ball we were going to score."

Yes I do know, that he is not in the clip. Was curious why he put it here.
Probably because this was in the article you didn't read.
