From Scout.com...Joe has offers from Pitt, Georgia Tech, Florida, Marshall, Rutgers, UConn, Virginia, North Carolina and Temple among others. He and Coach Fickell send text messages to each other. He is wide open and is attracted to schools like Virginia (Marques Hagans), Georgia Tech (Reggie Ball), Florida (Chris Leak) and Ohio State (Troy Smith) because of the fact these schools have given athletes a chance to be great QBs.

It seems as though his height certainly isn't getting in the way of his offers. I wonder how many of those schools are offering him as a 5'11" QB though...

His numbers are BLAZIN'! Sparq, shuttle, 40, vert... wow!

kind of rubs me the wrong way though...we should be offering way more blue chip DTs/OTs...............

This one was shocking to me...unless he camped at tOSU last summer, I have a hard time with the QB offer this early. This came from his father but the nature of the offer was not specified...written, verbal, tentative...however, I do agree that this offer may be under the athlete label. The SPARQ rating is unreal.

My guess about the early offer is due to the fact that he can play more than just quarterback. Looking at his rush numbers, he's averaging almost 10 yards per carry as a quarterback, which for any level is extremely impressive.

And who knows, maybe he's 6'0, but for athletic quarterbacks, size doesn't seem quite as important since teams oftenly have them outside the pocket where offensive linemen don't necessarily block their vision. Doug Flutie, Stefan Lefors, Michael Vick, Marcus Vick, Chris Leak, Randle El, even Troy Smith to an extent.... You don't always have to be extremely tall. My guess is that it's an offer to come in and perhaps give Qb a shot, but then move on to wr or cb if that doesn't work out.

Joe Haden, Fort Washington (Md.) Friendly

Fort Washington (Md.) Friendly quarterback/athlete Joe Haden is rising on the charts of many major programs. Although he's undersized for a quarterback, Haden has recently earned offers from Florida, Georgia, Ohio State and others. Haden spins the ball very well and has a live arm. He's also very mobile and a terrific athlete. If he doesn't work out at quarterback wherever he goes, he could play wide receiver or cornerback with little transition time. Haden will be at the NIKE Camp in State College, Pa. this weekend hoping to earn more offers. – Mike Farrell
