Johnny Manziel (unemployed)

It makes no [censored]ing sense whatsoever. Johnny Trainwreck's parents might be laughably hillbilly, but they're rich, East Texas, "oil discovered on the farm" hillbilly.

They give [Mark May]brick everything he wants. How could he be that [censored]ing dumb.

Rules is rules and this is similar to what OSU went down for. I get it.

But it underscores the absurdity of NCAA control. The kid is selling his own signature. Not equipment. Not access. Not getting money from boosters. Not getting paid to play. Just selling his own personal signature.

He is part of a billion dollar business - and his signature is not his.

This kid is a ticking timebomb. If this doesn't bring him down, something else will. I mean, he showed up at a UT frat party, for chrissakes. Could you imagine Braxton showing up at a scUM kegger? He obviously isn't the brightest bulb on the tree.

The only thing dumber than an arrogant athlete who thinks he's above the rules is the sports media. Until this story develops further, I'm going to assume this is just more media attention whoring.

I have to alter my comments. The NCAA is actually investigating the issue so I can't fault the media for reporting this story. However, as long as A&M/Manziel, aren't helpful in any way toward the investigation, I have full confidence the NCAA will find no wrong doing.

To people saying it doesn't make sense bc he's loaded......have you not followed anything this kid does? It's not about the money, it's about the fact that people will pay him for autographs. It makes him the rock star that sits courtside for NBA games.

If you're going to make this argument then just let boosters bid for players.

If selling signatures is allowed, HS recruits could cut deals to sell their signatures to a "broker" contingent upon signing their LOI. Kids would get a sense what schools provided the best market potential for their signatures- tOSU would likely be an attractive choice.

Bingo. Also, if you allow signatures to be sold, where do you draw the line at what else can be sold?
