Just Curious: What's your honest opinion of LSU?

HE STARTED IT (Points finger at LSU fans)!!! haha jp

Hey I was called out so thats only reason I responded.... I'm not discounting LSU at all I've stated a win is a win no doubt bout it. I'm just a bit irritated hearing excuses for the close wins (who cares boys you won them, and they lost!!). Anyways I'm going to get one more late jab (might be unneccessary but the hell with it) that Auburn DB is a moron for not turning around he was in perfect position to INT the ball had he just looked back.

Here's a question what would you LSU fans think if Auburn would've indeed picked the ball off? (about Les Miles that is)

I'm certainly not trying to be argumentative here but why should we as LSU fans muster up excuses for a close win? It makes no sense. Excuses are for losses and any team's fan base has them. I'm sure there were some for the Illinois game much like our two losses. The thought of "if" he had thrown an INT, sure I would have been mad but he didn't so I don't know how I would feel or what I would say because it didn't happen. Let's all quit reaching for "if's" and "buts" because it's really not getting us anywhere.:wink2:

I haven't read the entire thread, so I'm not sure if this has been stated...

However, the main thing that concerns me is Hester/LSU's interior line versus our interior DL. The DTs have not exactly impressed me (over the course of the season, though they did play well in a couple of games) and Hester runs hard- more importantly keeps his pad level low. Our DTs will have to eat up/get off blocks and our LBs will have to make plays at the LOS in order to give us a chance to win this ballgame. The winner of those interior battles wins this game IMHO. Hopefully, our interior will be up for the significant challenge.

Go Bucks!

If you don't like ifs and buts you mind well stop being a fan:wink2:

I realize that in some aspects certain things are relative to a debate or discussion. But to continuously try to harp and make the same points in a different manner regarding imagined situations that had taken place during a football game we would be here all night.

Just imagine. Let's replace "what would have happened if you threw an interception on the last play in the Auburn game" and replace that with... "What would have happened if OSU had thrown an interception in the second quarter against Michigan". The point that I always try to stress is that yes, while the game can be won on the last play. There were a number of other plays that resulted in touchdowns, field goals, first downs and 3rd down conversions throughout the game that put them into that position. So rather than just beating a dead horse about "ifs and buts" on the last play of the game that won the game. I'd rather look at the entire games and the body of work that was the regular season. We could be here all month discussing the what ifs and buts.:wink2:

I said pretty much the same thing either in this thread or another. Whichever team controls the line of scrimmage wins the game in my opinion.

Well, specifically the interior I guess. :)

I am so stoked for this game. I feel like putting on the pads and running into the side of my house.

I agree CMick, I keep having nightmares about our defenses inability to get off the field in the last 8-9 minutes against the Illini. The other thing that concerns me is that although I think we match up quite well with LSU athletically, I think that LSU has faced much better competition and may be better prepared (not to even mention our extra two weeks off :()

I think the chip on our O-lines shoulder, after the less than impressive showing in the desert, might be the key.
:oh:

haha.... It's ok to complain and talk "what if" with loses, but not with close wins! I never said anythign bout complaining bout loses because every fan base does that. However, if you don't beat a team as bad as you think you should've don't complain. Thats what I was sayin... I think you misunderstood me.
