This isn't a point that should be glossed over. Play this scenario forward across a few classes and what happens is a log jam of pretty good, but mostly not great, players creating a log jam in their recruiting plumbing. They will likely have fewer who depart early for the NFL and try as they might, even Ol Nick would have a hard time processing that many kids out of the program in exchange for better players in future classes.

I recognize that this is likely doing their best, but over time, even their best will likely continue to very slowly close the gap... and that's if most everything works out in their favor.

While numbers were tight this year, for us, it's been an incredibly successful recruiting campaign thus far. In comparison, filling out 'ships where the high end of their class (sans DPJ) is about middle of the road for our class does not paint a pretty picture for that team up north long term. They may be successful against the likes of the middle of the B1G, but they are likely never to be truly elite on the national stage.

Someone said, can't remember which thread, Hairball opens 0-4 against tOSU and bails for the NFL again. I'm not sure he goes after 0-4, but it would be a surprise to see him make it / stick around for 0-6. There's a very good chance for the 0-4 based on what is coming into the programs now... we'll have to see how it plays out for the next couple of recruiting classes...

I pray the Urban is around to make that 0-6 come to fruition.
