KFC Grilled Chicken (free offer)

I think that is part of it but I also think she isn't that enamored with it, more of a fad thing since she has not gotten it but the one time.

She also brings home roasted chicken from Meijer's which is good if you eat it right away but not after it sits in your fridege several hours and then nuked.
i kind of like those roasted birds from the grocery also. ive even gotten the mini ones and had them for lunch.

is this grilled chicken thing good?
Wife brought home a meal over the weekend. The ensuing argument over who got the last grilled chicken breast almost ended in divorce.

OK. Not really, but it was pretty good.

I love grilled chicken anyway. When I go to the grocery store I usually buy two bags of those individually frozen chicken breasts (~10 lbs worth). Give me some boneless, skinless chicken breasts, a grill, and a bottle of BBQ sauce and I could eat that every single meal, every single day.

KFC's sauceless recipe isn't half bad.

Ditto. I have some homeade vinegar-based BBQ sauce or use a dry rub that some guy sent me from the Texas game. Love it topped with salsa too.

LOL I don't think KFC thought about the economic situation before they tried this. Seen the commercial where they aren't taking the coupons any longer. Maybe they shoul call Taco Bell for advice, they've done this a few times.

I still haven't tried it. Now that I can't get it for free I don't know if I ever will. It can't be better than Boston Market's chicken anyway, and there is no way in hell that KFC's side dishes are better than BM so there's no need to change my chicken routine. BM por vida!!! [sound of "mexican cat-call" here being called out by my avatar]

KFC is responding to the success of Nando's, a high-end peri-peri grilled chicken chain that has experienced tremendous growth and international expansion in the last decade. Personally, having tasted both products, they need to lift their game a whole lot more to catch Nando's.

Nando's has excellent advertising, which I attribute to their well-trained marketing grads :) Here are some of their ads and other things. If you look on Google you can find some of their politically inappropriate advertising.

No Nando's in AZ that I know of. Is their chicken better than Boston Markets?

Edit: Looked it up and only 2 restaurants in the U.S. Both in Washington DC. Thanks for nothing Nando's!!!

Wrote this for the reaction..mission accomplished. However, I do need to give props to BB73 for sending me the excellent dry rub spices from Texas.

I think their idea was to expand from South Africa to areas with large South African expatriate communities first, then to expand in those areas. So, they are really big in Australia, the UK, Israel, and some Canadian cities. I think that they will want to get bigger before a headlong shot at KFC on their home turf.

I like their chicken much better than Boston Markets. It is an African rendition of Portuguese peri-peri spice in a range of flavors, from mild to "holy crap, what happened to my mouth". Their ads are great fun.

Many are incredibly anti-politically correct. The stripper Mom in "Nando Fix" is typical of their humor.
