Kid-oriented Restaurants in CBus

kn1f3party

Hall of Fame
Taking the kids to the zoo this weekend. We're meeting a couple we've known for a while and want to take the kids somewhere they'll enjoy. I was looking for something like Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex, etc. Something where it is overpriced and the food is mediocre but the atmosphere dumbfounds the children. Any ideas? I can't for the life of me think of anything near CBus that is like this.

Hell, maybe I've given someone a good idea for the next bing thing around there.

I'm not sure how old they are, but the Buckeye Hall of Fame has the game room in the back and all of the memrobilia to look at.

I'd be good with this, but they are 7 (girl), 5 (boy), and 2 x 2 (boys).

Not sure they'll get in to it.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Does C-bus have a Chuckie Cheese?

Just ate pizza last night! Wouldn't bother me much but my wife has weird tenets with food and eating the same thing multiple times in the same week.

Or a half-built hotel.

We take my 3-year old niece to Dave and Buster's. She loves hitting the buttons and watching the tickets come out.

Thought of this, but my 2-year-old is by far the most insanely hyper-active child you've ever seen. We wouldn't be able to keep control of him in that kind of environment.

How about the Columbus Zoo? :tongue2:

They have an actual restaurant? Don't remember that.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass, but you see my dilemma here. If it were easy I wouldn't even need to ask. I just don't know of anything in Columbus that touches those places. And Chuck E. Cheese's is OK, but it is straight jank when you've been to Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex.

Dang, didn't know as I obviously don't live in Columbus anymore. Any idea where they took all of the memrobilia?

Buckeye Hall of Fame Grill

The Buckeye Hall of Fame Grill is an all-new sports restaurant concept licensed by The Ohio State University. It features unique memorabilia, rarely-seen photographs, and an atmosphere that celebrates all things scarlet and gray. The latest technology ensures the finest game day experience whether you're seated in the restaurant, at the bar or around the "Block O" fire pit.

Unlike many traditional sports bars ? often known more for sports and spirits than food ? The Buckeye features a menu that will keep you coming back regardless of what?s on tap, on the televisions, or on the big screen in the film room. From unique appetizers like Brutus Buckeye Bites to signature entrees including chicken cooked on a rotisserie, roasted prime rib and a daily fresh fish special, everything is prepared using only the finest and freshest ingredients. When it comes to the food...Everyday is Game Day.

It doesn't have games and stuff, but I believe they do have a semi-full service place back in the Congo/Africa section of the zoo. If I ever convinced my mom to eat there, it was back when I was young enough to not really remember it. Of course, that also means it could have changed, since the last time I was at the Columbus Zoo was two years ago. Speaking of which, I really need to get back and check out the Arctic exhibit and see some of the original gorillas before they die. Its amazing to think that I pretty much grew up watching some of the gorillas grow up as well (my mom and I had memberships almost the entire time we lived in Ohio).

EDIT: Actually the Congo River Market is a food court style area. That's the place I thought was somewhat full service back there. Does anyone remember the zoo having a sit-down place? I could have sworn they had one when I was younger.

They list places on the site but they don't go in to a lot of detail so you can't tell what you're really in for.
