I'm guilty of hitting a Bears forum on ESPN and yanking some chains over there.

They're convinced that Krenzel is the root of all their problems. Lol, I really had to laugh. He had a pretty horrible game, but in typical Craig fashion, did what he needed to when it was do or die. Credit the Bears D for that win, but had Craig not suddenly strung a few completions together to set up the FG, it never would have gone to OT.

The Bears have taken on a bit of that Tressel/Krenzel-ball look, and their fans don't know what to make of it. The sky is falling in Chicago (despite their new ugly little win-streak), and it will get better ONLY if Chad Hutchinson comes in to play next week. Lol.

You know, I think pretty poorly of our fans sometimes, being so preoccupied with the QB spot, that they miss everything else on the field. Like poor OL play and spotty running leading to some of the problems. But I'm ready to acknowledge that some fans everywhere are guilty of not being able to see past the QB.

Anyway, look at that 3-0 record. Had they even strung 2 games together before Craig started?

He's not particularly gifted physically. He still throws some bad passes. But he's still got whatever that was that allowed him to come through just enough. I think the Bears may well be in trouble if he's still starting next year, but I know I'll watch quite a few of their games if he is. For a guy who wasn't even a sure-thing in the draft, who was brought in to be 3-4 deep, and not play for years -- he could be doing far worse.

The Bears win close one

CK, 3rd string QB for Bears plays an unremarkable statistical game as Bear's defense wins the day.

Craig must think the football gods have merely moved their allegence to the NFL.

I think this is his 3rd win as starter for Bears.

Here's what it has come to over the last few years...

NFL games : fantasy football :: ping pong balls : lottery.

Stats and individual performances come before team results - until the playoffs at least. People don't want a winner anymore, they want a good linescore. If Krenzel was 1-2 and averaging 280 yds/game, more people would be happy with him. I'll take wins over stats anyday though, and I miss Krenzel playing in a Buckeye uniform.

Da Bulls, Da Bears...
Get me a 24 oz porterhouse a portable defibrillator and a
a blow up doll of Mike Ditka..

There are a lot of those fair weather Bears fans still lusting for the days of Sweetness (who was fantastic), Mad-man McMahon and Singleteray.
No Love from 'em for Lovie Smith, nor for anyone who isn't solid gold Heisman highlight reel.
Same clutch of grieving spews probably also gave Mikey T lotsa Grief when he stepped in for mad-man McMahon.

Then you have the real Bears fans -- who do appreciate going from 1-5 to 4-5, don't care about ugly, do care about wins, and probably buy every round CK might want to down to ease the pain of those sacks.

Sounds similar to Buckeye Universe to me ('cept we can't buy the QB a round else the ncaa will get in JT's shorts).

Krenzel's lines would look a heckuva lot better if da Bears had a skill player who could catch. Terrell has been a goat, complaining about being wide open and then dropping easy catches. Berrian is easily muscled off his routes and doesn't fight for the jump ball. Clark couldn't catch a cold. Wade can't haul in anything thrown with even moderate zip.

Sure, Krenzel's no Roethlisberger, but he doesn't exactly have Plax, Ward, or Randle El to throw to either. His receivers need to help him out a little bit. Heaven forbid one of them should lay out and try to catch a pass.

... and don't even get started on the play calling and the revolving door blocking techniques of the offensive line.
