Discovering Kyle McCarthy

Some say that Kyle McCarthy is a name that just recently popped up in the recruiting circles. Kyle says he really started to gain notice “at the PSU Nike Camp when I turned in some really good times.” It was a combination of factors that kept him off the recruiting boards until now.
Kyle indicates that he “was pretty darn underrated in his junior season” and that they “were slow to get out his video” as the reasons he crept under the radar for so long.
McCarthy has size and speed, but equally obvious is his intelligence. Kyle has a 3.75 GPA in Advanced Placement classes and told BuckeyePlanet that “Advance Placement Calculus” is the class that has “taken up more than a share of his time.”
While Kyle grew up a Notre Dame fan he “is putting that into a different perspective and it is not an influence (as to where he goes to college).” In fact, Kyle has “four uncles that went to Ohio State and there is a lot of family there.” He expects to know “a lot more by the end of this weekend” regarding his college future.
He says that he is a “hard worker” and that “ my grandfather is my greatest influence. He played professional baseball and is a real positive influence to me. He shows the way I want to live my life.”
Maybe Kyle McCarthy wasn’t a household name a week ago, but he seems destined to be a name all will be familiar with in the future.
