Lamarcus Joyner (DB New York Jets)

For someone LJ's height, I have personally never seen a guy jump as high as he did (with pads on or just street clothes) when he played my Palmetto Panthers last year in the playoffs. He most certainly does have extremely good coverage skills (can't believe someone would say he has weak skills, they must be whacked in the head). It's almost deceptive the way he plays. Guys aren't expecting it and then they get surprised (and usually put flat on their back). I heard as much the following week after we barely beat LJ's then Southwest Eagles, because parents and friends in the stands were commenting at the Palmetto vs. Killian game, that #3 for SW was all over the place and the reason Southwest stayed in the game.

Five stars and an offer from every program in the country just about. If we land this kid the pipeline to Florida would officially be gushing.

I totally agree. I just talked to Dunkley and he's very serious about OSU, i mean for real. I thought he was full of it but he's genuine. It's all b/c of LJ, guys just want to be around him. If he commits early he's going to bring a ton of guys with...except if he goes to UF. Im sooooo glad USC is too darn far. If not, let's just say dont get blown out this yr. But like i said, i think people outside of O-state have more respect for them than most of the fans. I mean how do your team beat arguably the best ever college football team for a NC, go to dang near every BCS game, and have one of the most respected head coaches? Unless most fans dont dig the sweater/vest. I think Im going to get me one, and put the Da U logo on it baby.
:oh: DA U

my bad yall, my cane spirit coming out a lil.

Good news indeed, OSU is doing some serious work down there.

Is there a chance LJ decides early instead of signing day like has been said?

Once you've tasted perfection, you crave it every year. Mix together a fanbase as large & passionate as buckeye nation together with success, and you'll have an insatiable hunger for more. The vast majority of OSU fans adore Tressel, they just want to see improvement in some areas (playcalling, blocking). Come gameday, they'll still be there in big numbers, even for fall scrimmages or spring games.

There's only a slim margin for improvement (and NCs usually require as much luck as talent) but a lot of room to get worse. There may be some beefs here and there, but by and large Tressel is still a living legend to the fans, especially when you start comparing him to most others.
Unless most fans dont dig the sweater/vest.
Nah, his style is one of his better qualities, if a bit dated. But that's one of the things we love about him, he's old school.
I think Im going to get me one, and put the Da U logo on it baby.

I have always maintained my love for OSU, the program, the coaches, the school I give all my money to, the city, the women:wink2:, and the tradition. I think Buckeye fans are upset about the last few big games we have been in, and understandably so. Jim Tressel is a victim of his own success. Like you said, we beat probably the best college football team of the 21st century and people expect it every year. Some fans are more fanatics than football experts, but I think BuckeyePlanet has a hotbed of level headed fans. We all love Ohio State here, I'm sure when you come to the spring game, you will see how much OSU fans care about the program.
Genron, don't say I didn't warn you when Lamarcus makes us his number one after coming up here. Which I guess would be bitter sweet for you seeing how you will be sending him to a great place but he will be going up against your beloved Canes in 2010 and 2011. Not to mention the air costs should you want to come watch some games. LOL:osu:

I think we're gonna get them this year. Hope you guys decide to take an official visit for that game. The atmosphere is going to be ridiculous. I hope the staff takes advantage and gets the Florida kids up here for that one. Genron, do you know if OSU is showing any interest in Lamb?

Also, tell him to go easy on De'Joshua, since they are gonna be teammates according to FSU fans.lol.

Blocking? Its not his fault, he cant go out there and block anyone. Got to get better players with a mean streak. LJ fits that mode, he's a miami player what else is there to expect. He's not nice on the field like Howard Sabino. I think OSU is missing that......its something called swagger. I think that word has been banned the last couple of years in Ohio

Women....columbus have women... I mean not one or 100. Im talking about 10000's. hey we stay all week if that is the case. Be up there multiple times. Women! hook me, if he signs there ill came stay for the women. Cant be better than here but women are women.
And I not worried about him going up against Miami. If more FL ballers dont sign they are going to beat the pants off O-state again, and with our refs this time. but thats a 2010 story. Halla back in about a 1yr and 1/2.

O-state interest in Lamb? nope i doubt it. They want to see him come up for a summer camp and if he impresses then they are going to offer. He'll sign b/c he dad is great friends with C Carter. If they offer he's an OSU lock. but only if he attend and performs well at summer camp.
FSU fans stink, i dislike them very much. I had a thought in my head of watching LJ play at FSU with me in the stands. I got disgusted when i thought of sitting with a bunch of FSU fans. No mercy for Johnson,

Can he play OL? :p

First time I've seen Sabino described as nice on the field. He can lay the wood.

I agree about the swagger and attitude to a point.. we had some nasty guys back in 2002, some a little too nasty (Reynolds).. but they wanted to hurt people when they got out on the field.. I hope LJ can bring that swagger, not to mention some of his south Florida buddies up here with him.. I think with Pryor at QB we got that swagger ready to role on offense.. We just need a defensive leader to come in and establish an attitude.. someone to provide a physical intimidation factor every time our defense steps out on the field

As for Lamb, it sucks that we're probably only taking one back this year, cause I think he'd be a nice gamebreaker to add into the mix.. Hopefully, he comes up and camps in the summer, although I know that's difficult for a kid to pay his way up, just to try to earn and offer, when he's already got other schools interested

Any weaknesses ultimately fall on the coach, especially because part of the problems appear to be caused by sub-par recruiting. Fortunately, I think he's not only improved that but targeted many with a mean streak. Brewster, Shugarts, Mewhort, & Boren (who they recruited, lost to UM, and got via transfer) bring that in spades.

I'm just explaining what some fans wish would be better and are excited to see already changing. It's still a tiny part of the big picture and a far superior situation to most schools. I wouldn't trade coaches for anyone and I think you'd hear the same from the vast majority of fans.

I think they've lacked that on offense a bit more than D, but Pryor, Posey, the OL & mentioned and others play with that edge as well as you defenders like Gibson, Williams, Goebel, Bell, etc as well. OSU traditionally has that on D, I think they're on their way to recapturing that on O.

Joyner's Top School: Ohio State
"Ohio State, that's the program they produce DBs out of all the programs the most," he said. "I have conversations with coaches and I look for certain things and Coach Paul Haynes and Jim Tressel, they just seem to have everything I?m looking for as far as having all the answers."

"I'm going to the Ohio State spring game and I'm just going to go ahead and do what I do best and get on the field in the spring time and dominate, and just get a preview of what's going to come this coming season. [St. Thomas Aquinas] is the place to be. It's a great program. I'm glad I'm here.

Nice update, always good to have out of state recruits in hotbed areas giving props to OSU. But this one has a long way to go as I believe it has been pointed out that Lamarcus will be making a signing day decision. Let's hope his enthusiasm for OSU does not wane as he could influence other top Floridians.
