So I guess what genron and berryfan are saying that is if you want to post your expert opinion about how we have no chance or you dont think we'll land LJ, go type it somewhere else please. We know what were up against, we know the history. Our coaches and staff are fighters and are second to none. If it is possible to bring LJ north, theyll do everything they can to make it happen!!

In the words of ESPN's Tom Jackson, Kudos Leroy..Kudos my man

So as a Nole fan living in cbus, i had to register to follow this thread. I graduated from FSU 5 years ago, and have been living in cbus for work. That being said i love it here, and actually root for the buckeyes because i appreciate the passion for big time football (as cane fans truly dont).

here's my 2 cents on the situation:

I think that LJ can't go wrong at either school. Both offer a national showcase, great coaching and atmosphere, and a great education. Both are far enough from Miami, that he can leave home and be his own man.

If this were any other south florida recruit who grew up loving FSU, i would say the bucks have no real shot. too much pressure to stay in the home state. There is one reason why I do not feel as confident as many of you seem to think I should...........Genron.

Not to knock on you Genron, but actually to praise you. If you are the major influencer and mentor on LJ's life, and if you keep out all the people who want a piece of LJ (and there will be a TON), then I think that LJ is a buckeye. It's something about the story you said about wanting to play on the other team against his friends to prove he was the best. If he goes to FSU, he is just another florida star staying at home. If he goes to OSU, he is a once-a-year florida superstar coming to take his place in history.

Tressel takes 3* recruits and turns them into superstars and superbowl MVP's. Bowden takes 5*s and the best ones are all-americans and have amazing nfl careers, while many sit on the bench and are forgotten. It frustrates me because talent wise, we should have 5 or 6 national titles in the last 2 decades. Unfortunately, we only care to recruit sick athletes instead of needed o-linemen (and kickers).

My worry is that when LJ comes to visit columbus, he will be fed all the successful DB's that came out of OSU recently, and deservedly so. OSU is cornerback U and i think that will win out.

I also think that Genron has many of the same traits as Ted Ginn Sr. when it comes to being a coach and looking out for his kids and in the end, that will play a big part, as their is no doubt that Tressel builds a family atmosphere like few can do.

But beware buckeye fans, as Bowden is no slouch when it comes to recruiting and he is infinitely more involved than Paterno would be. He is a bulldog and i think Genron would agree that Tressel needs to at least match that intensity.

so to summarize, i would bet today on him going to OSU, but i know that FSU will be there until the end, and we could end up stealing him from you. I think we would all agree that as long as he doesnt go to the canes or florida we will be happy. I just hope i get to cheer him on one way or the other, but most hopeful for FSU.

I'm not afraid of anyone. This team coming up is about to be a lot better than the team that held down all the positions for the last few years. There is a lot more talent and a lot more heart just from what I can see already. Pryor and Brewster want it really bad, and our defense is always good, not to mention these young players we have. We're going to be faster on defense and we've got a lot of really good players on the Dline. And lucky for LJ, corner is probably the spot on defense where he could come and compete for a starting job from day one. Trust me, we know great players when we see them, that's why we get so down when we lose big games. We know what it's like to win, and anyone who comes here in the near future is really looking at a great time for Ohio State football. I think that the next few years are going to be the start of something big for Ohio State.

I believe in our coaches. We got great people. Who wouldn't want to become a better man and have a chance to do something special on the field? Not to mention the education and people that you meet around here. Jim Tressel is really a great man and he isn't even close to done winning. Every recruit is different. Each one is a different person. You can't just write someone off based on history.

What I love is that we have the best source right here on BP.. I loved how genron posted that FSU and OSU were Top 2.. then a couple days later, LJ says the same thing in his update.. it's great, regardless of where LJ ends up, that we have such a close inside look at this recruitment..

Genron, thought it was nice that he had alot of kind words for you (assume it was you he was talkin about) in one of his recent Rivals update..

Anyway, how will the presence of Terell Buckley factor into this recruitment, I've heard Lamarcus talk highly of him, and FSU fans seem convinced Buckley will have a feature role in their coaching staff down the road (I dont know what hsi present role is)..

Also, I've heard that Andrews is going to be stepping down possibly following this season, how does that effect LJ's thinking?

Dang man, some good questions you just asked. I think I should charge a fee for what I have to say. lol....
About T. Buck: Interesting move by FSU. Actually a great move. Amato is hurting them down here. If Buckley gets the lead on this its going to be exciting for LJ. Man, being recruited by your Dream player is ...........whoa. But not hypnotizing.

Andrews leaving: Bigger than T. Buck's recruiting. He's the main reason why I like FSU defense. And the reason why there defense as been so great over the years. He's the reason for that. Losing him has to have an effect of what the climate of the defense is going to do. Plus the discipline he instills on that side of the ball.

Anyways, its exciting to see LJ in a recruiting battle with FSU and tOSU for me....I'm hopeful he chooses the Bucks.

Yeah, it's interesting already to say the least. FSU is a school that we usually don't compete with for recruits (at least not that I'm aware of).

I just watched his film again. He reminds me a lot of Winfield. Loves to hit and never gives up on a play (which is rare for a top notch CB). Definitely a Tressel type recruit. Though I think he has more potential than AW did in the return game.

If he's a person with character like AW, he's a once in a generation CB recruit.

recuiting herion...

Have always bounced around these boards from time to time over the course of the year seeing what is going on, got more intense this year so I had to register and drop a few posts... assumed that the constant need to "be in the know" (or at least attempt to) would slightly subside after NLOI but the LJ thread is making it worse. He is a **** of a player and everyone i show the Utube vid to is floored.

So congrats to you Frank and Genron... you have me checkin this thread and the one on TOS like there is gonna be an announcement that I won a million dollars posted there any seccond and I can't imagine I am alone. Don't think I will ever find the the million dollar message here but I know that the "LJ signed/committed with tOSU" will cause a similar jubilant explosion regardless of where I am... just hope I don't find out via Blackberry while I am in trial!
