Lamarcus Joyner (DB New York Jets)

I actually like FSU alot, but the program has faced some issues the last couple of years in regards to institutional control.. Furthermore, FSU continues to haul in tremendous classes year in and year out, yet the onfield results have been very puzzling..

Every year I see FSU in the Top 5 or so in recruiting, yet they've played in like one BCS bowl games in like the last ten years. What is going on there? I would be irate as a fan that so much talent is coming in yet the program isn't developing them into winning football teams.

If you want to respond then cool, but I won't post anymore about this cause i dont want to turn this into an OSU vs FSU thing

billmac, the scholarships "reductions" didn't really reduce anything. 10 over 3 years is a slap on the wrist.

Buckeyety4, I agree with most of your post. Before Fisher got here, though, recruiting was lazy. Terrible. Now, he has picked it back up and the results on the field have shown that in two short years. He has lit a fire under the program. FSU is bringing in an great class this year. We will return to the elite after Bobby leaves.

For the record, if Joyner doesn't go to FSU, I would want him to go to tOSU.

as an FSU grad myself, I can see the point. FSU isn't exactly looking like the cleanest program in the country right now....

Genron, will the loss of scholarships at FSU play a role at all? It's going to be hard to compete with upper-echelon schools with fewer scholarship players.

A little effect but not much for LJ. To be its a big deal though. I dont emphasize that with him just yet. I want to hear what the coaches will have to say to him 1st and see if they push it under rug or continue to blame it on Bobby and that academic staff they had. Ill support him whereever he chooses. But really I hate how FSU/UM is putting too much pressure on him to sign with them. UM keeps bring up that it's home team and what kid from Liberty City wouldn't want to go to Da U and that your turning your back on his hometown. FSU keep saying it's dream school, your killing your dream if you dont come here, your regret the rest of life if dont come here, and come be like Deion and your childhood hero T Buck. I like OSU/UGA/Bama/UF approach, WE are here and we are not going to beg you, we want guys who want to be here.

The fellow fans, moderators and insiders can try and drive this point home, but nothing communicates it like those close to recruits.

There are some who worry that Tressel doesn't apply the same pressure they see from competing coaching staffs, but it clearly pays dividends.

I'm trying to decide which of your posts is more deserving of a great post award, this insight into Tressel's recruiting, or calling out buckwild  I guess until buckwild steps up, we'll go with this one.

Good interview. Just exudes confidence.

You like that huh? Man thats called years of grooming. I was so proud of him when i saw that. Its a couple of things I saw he needed to correct but for his 2nd camera interview it was fine. Everything that I learned in speech comm 101 i was teaching him in middle school. I toold one day he's going to need it. It was a fight at 1st bc he didnt understand but im glad he brought into it. But dont get twisted, it's still a pitbull underneath that.

You can definitely see a difference between him and most of the other kids who've done video interviews with Rivals. Most of them mumble and stumble through their words, which is understandable, but Lamarcus came across as being very comfortable.

Its difficult not to root for a kid like LJ...

Genron - Nice picture. The academic side is so important! Hopefully Rolle does not bend his ear too hard on FSU.

Do you know who will be in your group coming to the OSU spring game? Keep seeing Dunkley and Riggs. Hope you have a good time.
