“My thoughts after being there is that I can’t wait to get back,” he said.

Finally, when it comes to his decision timeline and what he’s looking for in a school, Styles shared what he’s thinking.

“I’m not quite sure when I’ll be committing,” he responded when asked. “I know the decision will be made sometime before my senior season starts.

“My biggest factors are my relationship with my position coach, having a good feel of the environment. and the culture around the program, those just being a few things. Once I figure out what I would like to major in that will play a part as well.”

I appreciate when you can tell Birm is basically working in collaboration with Ohio State’s staff in a reciprocal relationship.

They give him recruiting info, he does this.

[whoever the primary Ohio State contact is, probably Hartline] Hey Birm, we really want to emphasize to Sonny Styles that he is our top recruiting priority—we can’t let other coaches push the narrative that we recruit nationally and don’t care about in-state prospects.

[Birm] Got it.

I have wondered this for so long…he has to be a sort of voice of the OSU coaches with the level of intel he’s getting. It’s an ingenious aspect of Day’s recruiting, and obviously it gives us so much more perspective on the outside
